Almost through it... two more boosts and then 7 more whole-breast rads.  Skin is still holding up well at this point.  I had a small lump in my armpit which everyone is telling me is an ingrown hair, and now I have a second one right near it.  Anyone else having ingrown hairs?  Lumps of any kind scare me!

Hope everyone else is doing well. Beacher--I don't have any experience with expanders etc. but I hope you get some resolution soon.

i ordered emu oil on line from gnc, i also picked up some more at The vitamin Shoppe.  i love the stuff, it cleared up my burn in a week, i am only lightly pink, i don't think i look like i had radiation.  if i only new sooner about emu oil.  i didn't read about it until my treatments were almost done, already burnt by that point.

Pegs - I heard about emu oil from BarbaraA and a lady at our local natural foods market.  It has been very nice, I agree!

Beacher - you must have got us mixed up. It's Lestwin who has a major rash - poor dear. I'm fine.

Omaz - I swear you must have got every cream/oil under the sun :)

Well, I'm off into the city today to visit my work. My team leader called yesterday to fill me in on what's been happening. He mentioned there's a curry lunch on offer today, so I'm going in to join in and visit everyone. I have to really start thinking about returning to work. I'm probably going to have another couple of weeks off after rads and then go back part time. My work is really good and I even have a rehab girl who looks after me.

    Last regular zap today!!!

sue - I have a herd of potions all lined up in the bathroom!  Each one gets it's turn.  So far so good.  Only 2 more boosts!  Nice thing is that when rads are over I have new things to use which is great because in general my skin in dry.   Smile

Thanks Oakley and Suepen, I'm looking forward to the climb and I'm staying positive that I'll be able to do it.  I'll need to do lots of walking and training over the next few months to get fit.

Congratulations mjbmiller on finishing!  I'm very happy for you.  And so many others are close too, including Rachel, lrr4993, Suepen.  Oakley and Omaz how many more do you have?

Lestwin, I hope the rash is getting better, and beacher, hang in there!  Thinking of you.

Saturn, I have a very small lump on my scar under my arm which my RO thinks is an undissolved stitch. Not sure if it will resolve on it's own, I hope so.

All full breast zaps done - only boosts to go!!!

I went in to work for a visit and everyone was pleased to see me. I hadn't been in touch much, so there were lots of questions regarding my treatment etc. I'm so glad I went.  Met my new team leader, found out all about our project being shelved and where we will go. I was able to put in a good word for myself in relation to where I would fit coming back. I'm a software engineer and work on Insurance software. None of us are in danger of losing our jobs thank goodness, they're getting rid of all of the contractors so there'll be lots of work for us to take over. Should go back in about 3 weeks I hope.

Congratulations Sue, only the boosts to go! At the beginning, it seemed such a long chunk of time hearing '6 weeks of radiotherapy' but I was surprised that the finish line seemed to approach fairly quickly!  But you've been there before so you would have your own experience to go by.  Glad your work is so understanding, that must be a comfort.

I saw my BS, he wants to see me again in 3 months which I'm pleased about as I'd rather more contact than less at the moment.  I see the rad onc in a month too.

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend everyone, I hope the 2 day break brings some relief.

    Congrats lrr!

    Sue - moving right along!

Victoria - I finished on Monday (and I even think you congratulated me already!!).  So exciting about your climb.

Beacher - my dogs are Kristy (black lab) and Beckham - we call her Becky - (golden retriever).  Kristy is 4 and we got her as a puppy to train for the Seeing Eye.  She flunked so we were able to keep her - she is amazing.  Becky is 3 and has no smarts - but we lover her anyway!!  Hope you are feeling better.

Last rad DONE!!!!!!!! Feels good. My skin under my armpit seemed to have peeled in the last couple of days and is sore but other than that.....happy to be done. Sending hugs to all those in rads. Thank God for this group....rads went by so easy when you have a group to talk to and learn all those little things. Told the techs that I hope I don't see them again....except at the mall or something. I got them some gift certs for Starbucks as a thanks for keeping me smiling throughout.

I have a little spot on my nipple that is getting pretty red, anyone have any suggestion about it?  I have been putting some cortisone cream on it, it's sensitive and I think a little raw at this point.

Omaz, I had a raw nipple and used neosporin on it.  That did not help much.  I think the only thing that helped was finished and giving it time to heal.  My nipple/areola did not blister but it was very very raw, no skin at it all.  Gave me so much pain I had to take pain killers to get through the last week. Oh also my RO did give me a lidacaine ointment for the pain called Regenecare.  It is a script so you might want to ask your RO about that if the pain gets to bad.  Burned at first putting it on then made it go numb so I could put other stuff on it.
