    Ginger,

I hope the phychiactric worker helps you.  This can be a nerve-wracking experience, but just know that many of us are here with you.  The good thing is that you're just about half-way through it!   Please let me know how it goes...

Victoria - WOW!  That sounds just incredible - climbing Mt. Kiliminjaro.  How courageous too.

For those of you still struggling, and it sounds like a few, HANG IN THERE - you will be to the finish line soon!  ((((HUGS))))

Congrats to those who are finishing!

Did #26 of 36 today.  Doing boosts midway through (#7 of 11), then back to a few more whole breast treatments to finish.  Saw RO today and he told me to continue with the calendula ointment.  He also said he would be giving me some different lotion to use for 6 weeks after treatment, after that I could use anything I wanted but would be moisturizing for eternity because the glands that keep the skin moist no longer work.  I guess I didn't think about it but makes sense.  Just another reminder that BC keeps on giving.

Omaz-- I may not have the technicalities exactly right, but basically the RO said I will always need to moisturize the area, "for the rest of my life".  Kinda surprised me, but really not a big deal.  He said I could use Eucerin or anything but avoid aloe because it can be drying (which surpirsed me too).  He said Costco had some huge container of lotion that is not expensive, about $8 he said.  Just need to remember to do it... I have always been bad about moisturizing!

Congratulations to everyone who has finished and those of you who are almost done!!! =)

Sue~ I haven't been given anything to dress the area with. All they said was to use cold compresses and tylenol pm for the itching.

Irr4993~ Is the silvadene prescription or over the counter? I wasnt given anything for where my skin is peeling either.

Ginger~ I hope you start feeling better and they are able to help you. I had really bad anxiety when I was doing the chemo, and was given ativan for that. It helped me relax but I felt sort of sleepy, so I wasn't able to drive myself when I took it.  You have gotten this far, you will make it to the end!!! =)  (((hugs))

I AM DONE, can I say that again, I AM DONE.  No more photons or electrons being zapped into me.  I brought the techs cookies my DS made for me last night since I was so tired.  Dinner out tonight.

Skin is looking a lot better with two weeks on the silver cream.  See the RO next month then adios amigos.

Satum i am glad i heard you say your dr said aloe can be drying cause i have always thought that it leaves my skin dry! looks like an aligator,it is an astringent. I know its good for you ,just not sure for rads?? and the cream my dr. likes"adrasina" relief lotion has it it in it, its made out here in in Ca. you could look it up on line.  they hey have alot of products, and the aloe seems gentler,at least i think?Take care

Lestwin - that's not good news. Hope the rash goes away.

Mariposa - they got me to use Solosite - a burn gel, over the counter stuff. They would dress it for me after each treatment.

    mjbmiller - Hooray!!!!! for you.

Irr4993 - I didn't think you'd be able to get the medi honey over there - it's a Kiwi product. You can only use what they tell you while still having rads - after that you can do the zinc and castor oil stuff which is a good healer according to my rad onc.

    mjb - yeah!!!

mariposa - I think silvadene is a prescription.  they just gave me a little container of it at the rad onco's office.

sue - oddly enough, I did find it hear on a sears website.  I have no idea why sears is carrying this.  But none of the drugstores seem to carry it.

Irr4993 - How many zaps do you have left? You can't use it until you're finished - maybe it would arrive in time. The tube I got is a tiny one - not a jar. I used it on a spot where the dressing from   recent surgery had pulled some of my skin off - it worked on that too. It's really handy to have in the drawer as it has an antibiotic effect on small scratches etc.

I only have two boosts left, but the raw area is not in the boost area, so it is already on its way to healing, albeit slowly it seems.  The sears delivery time was 10 days.  According to my rad onco it should be healed with silvadene by early next week.  If not, I may go ahead and order the medihoney.

Only 1 regular zap to go !!! The crease underneath still looks fine. The girls today said it doesn't even remotely look like breaking down - so looks like I made it :)

Itching is a good sign with burns, right?  My raw area is itching like crazy right now.

    Great news Sue

Irr you might need to use some hydrocortisone for the that is what my RO recommend to use. I used the silver cream and the techs commented on how well my skin looked after a week.

Well sisters I found an area on my back where skin has been affected by radiation. About 5 by 3 in long. Some bumps but mostly tanned.

mhb - Where is the spot on your back?  Could be related to lymph node treatment?  They should have told you to look out for that area!

beacher - I read your post on Feb rads thread - I'm sorry I don't have an answer because I have no experience with expanders.  I can only imagine they would want to give you a little rest from the rads, but it's up to the doctors (they know best - most times).

Hoping it gets easier for you.

Omaz the part on my back is a bit larger than my lynphnode area the radidated. The did worn me and I had been looking up to this week. I think it is from my boosts. It is not sore or irritated just mostly tanned. Have my DH put lotion on it for me.

Suepen:  Went for #13 yesterday, they also took pictures, and I had to see a doctor first.  I am covered in itchy hives.  The RO (not mine) said to take a benadryl (no driving) and get the cream also and cover myself in it.  I did, slept like a log for 11 hours and the itching this morning (so far) is minimal.  My skin has all the lumps (looks like oatmeal) on it (remember I'm allergic to so many things) but not too many blood blisters (from scratching).  Now I'm sticking to the Aquaphor!

Great news Mbjmiller:  We are behind you but will be there hopefully in the not too distant future.

Beacher:  I hope things get better for you.
