I have truncal LE in my broken boob ;(  I haven't been officially diagnosed but it is obvious...my bra leaves deep 'divets' and if I push on it, I leave fingerprints!  Up until now it hasn't bothered me or effected my daily life but in the past few days I have noticed that my range of motion has decreased due to pain.  I am having pain all the way down my arm to my elbow now.  It has been almost a year since I had my lumpectomy, a few months after it I had 'cording' and I have always had swelling in my breast.  My question is how do I go about finding a qualified LE specialist?  I was scheduled to meet with a PT specialist earlier but canceled because I was so overwhelmed.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Is there anything I can do to lessen the swelling/pain while waiting to see a specialist?  Thanks in advance for the help :D  xoxo, Angi

I cannot even imagine wearing a bra with my truncal LE!! Surprised I have stayed flat with no recon or foobs and still got truncal LE...sigh. A PT should be up on LE as it's not just a result of breast surgery. (S)he will teach you MLD procedures that you can do yourself at home. I tend to only do them when I see the swelling or feel the pain. Get thee to the PT, it's worth it!

Angi, here are a couple of links--one for truncal/breast LE and the other is how to find a qualified therapist--but do talk to them before the visit and make sure they understand how to treat breast/truncal LE.

A LE therapist will check out your arm and shoulder and there are lots of compression and massage options to treat it.

We all get overwhelmed, but it sounds like you're ready to take it on now.

Let us know how we can help.
