Pink Ribbon Yoga sounds excellent
It is still cold here, even if I were inclned to get out and trudge through the snow to take a walk, the wind here today could blow you into the next state. I think it is back on the treadmill today

Hello Ladies,
HELP! I am GETTING MARRIED in August, and I just have to lose the 30 pounds I gained through treatment...I do not want to be a fat bride!
This was all so unexpected. I wasnt skinny, but I was a normal, healthy weight before all this BC hooha began. I had chemo then 3 months of Tykerb (on a trial) followed by a year of Herceptin. Like many women, I have found the weight incredibly stubborn and hard to get off. Will it get easier to lose weight as time goes by? Or has my metabolism changed for ever? I went into premature menopause. Somebody give me hope, please!
-
Spring,
What is the Pink Ribbon Yoga? Do they have them nationwide?? I am intrigued....
Welcome Rubyluby! This is a very good thread. The ladies here are VERY MOTIVATED, and they make me feel ashamed. I am NOT keeping up with my regular exercise, because it is TOO COLD to go outside... I know.... I am a WIMP....
The ladies here will help you to keep to your schedule and those pounds will just MELT off!
Hugs
Harley

PS Congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals!!
Everyone,HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

Happy Vlentines Day to all!
The sun is shining and it is getting warmer. Suppose to be in the low 70's this weekend. That ought to make you happy "wimp".
Had the dogs out yesterday and they are spending a lot of time out today before i go to work. Their owner hopes to be home on Tues. I've had the pups over a week now. They definitely don't like my schedule.
Good luck with the reconstruction and Ainm you are so great. I guess I will have to purchase a Wii to get me going. My work schedule just doesn't help me any. Keep movong and think spring.
-
Ruby, welcome, sending you a PM
-
Way to go, Ainm! You are such an inspiration to us all!
db, I will be thinking about you, and I'm already praying for you! I found that getting Stage II behind me provided a huge, unexpected emotional lift. Hopefully, you will experience something similar -- knowing that, finally, most of this experience is behind you.
Ruby, welcome! And how exciting about your August wedding! I'm sure you'll be a beautiful bride! What sort of exercise are you doing?
PitPat, are you hanging in there? I had to laugh at your "moved around today" comment. Yep! We all remember! Hope you're past the roughest patch by now...
It has been really warm here -- probably close to 80 when I walked (in shorts) around 11:00 a.m. But it's supposed to cool off later in the week. I've been doing 4 or 5 miles a day again, and at a much faster pace -- just no running or jogging yet. In fact, yesterday I noticed that distinct second wind feeling around the 3 mile mark, something I haven't felt for awhile.
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Deanna
-
Deanna, that is great, know what you mean but its been awhile since I felt it. We have so much snow on the ground it is hard to picture 80 degrees

Can't wait for chemo to be over! Just when you begin to feel great your tossed into the physical doldrums. Today headache and body ache from the neupogen.
Need to be here and read that women are out there getting active. I CAN do it again. I'm so looking forward to being on the coast and with my sister. i know that having just me to look after I will find that place where my body wakes up and feels alive again.
In the next couple days I'll be "normal" again. Thanks for being there girls.
-
PitPat - yes it is a roller coaster of up and down. But it WILL END and you WILL BE BACK TO YOUR OLD SELF!!
Today is 45 minutes on the elliptical. I am coming here to say it so I have to do it after work!!
-
PitPat I didn't have to do Chemo so I cant help you on that level. I cant even imagine how you feel before during or after. I hope it passes soon and you are back to yourself in no time......
SpringtimeI am sure you will do the elliptical and more......

I need some cyber vibes for my future DIL. She has an interview Friday with a company in my son's vicinity. If she gets it then she will move to the beach and he won't have to give up his fishing job. I know ya'll will help me.
Yoga on Wednesday and walking my Dd twice a day, longer now since it is getting warmer and the puppies have gone home for a few days. My mutt was groomed the other day. She so needed it after putting up with the puupies for 8 days. I need it too. Everyone keep moving and remember the 10 min rule. Come on spring!!
-
cyber vibes and thoughts for future DIL sobx.
Yoga day today for me
-
I took yesterday off. It was glorious. I was sore from yoga and weights. Not exercising one day is a good break. Back at it today!
-
I just signed up for the Revlon Walk/Run .. here at the Los Angeles Coliseum on May 7th 2011 .. trying to figure out where to begin. I don't want to disappoint myself, or my daughter. It is a 2.5 mile walk ...
Trying to put 1 foot in front of the other ...Vicki Sam
-
Congrats VickiSam you can do it!!!
Well I did only 21 minutes on the treadmill this morning as I hurt my foot (new sneakers)....anyway now that it is staying lighter later I got to actually do a walk outside for 2 miles, so I am feeling really good right now!!!
-
I took a day off yesterday, it was great. Today I did 45 on elliptical and 30 weights. TGIF!!!
-
Thank you all for the cyber vibes for my future DIL. She got the job and moving to NC in March. That means now I have to get into shape for a future wedding. Talk about motivation!!
My adopted family here are coming over for dinner tonight. Jaymie went to visit some friends before moving to Okinawa and her husband and 2 sons are on their own. So I'm making sure they are fed. I will so miss them when they move for three years. So will my Dd. They are her sitters.
I am starting to look at Wii's. Any suggestions? I have no clue what I am looking at or for. Guess my walks will have to get longer and with it staying lighter longer it is nice. Didn't even have to use the flashlight this morning. Keep moving and welcome newbies.
-
Congrats to your future DIL Joy!
