June, Glad you had a great time with your hubby!! But so sorry you are feeling so bad. I don't know why but it does seem the docs are different in the tests they order and the things they do. Just keep after them!!
Alicia, So glad you were able to have a night of sound sleep!! Here's to more and more of those!
BTW, I also do the Shellac on my nails. Love it. I do the french mostly with either the Romantique or Negligee color. I have these awesome tiny little sparkles I found online and add it to my second coat. So pretty and just barely sparkly. I love all things sparkly.
Dawney, thinking about you! During my originial biopsy my dr also had to use a couple different needles. He had to push and push....I thought it was awful and was totally not expecting that. It was very hard and calcified....and he said my breasts were just very fibrous and dense and hard to get through also.
I am scheduled March 4th for my exchange surgery....coming up soon!! Oh my!
This train moves too fast! I'm sorry if I missed some, I'm going to have to start taking notes as I read!!
-
East Coast - I was surprised also. My first biopsy was painless, simple and no bruising. This time I thought the doctor was going to have to climb on the table with me lol Good luck with your exchange surgery. I am planning reconstruction for April if all goes well with the biopsy.
-
GOING TO HAVE A LOOK ROUND AND TAKE SAMPLE TO CHECK,
-
Did you say sparkles? Are they also made by shellac, do you get them online. I have been wearing fedora ~ it is a dark dark brown. But just ordered Romantique a few days ago for a lighter color hoping for SPRING soon....
Sandee ~ glad you got your script to split the pill. Hope your back feels better soon.
Cat ~ welcome to our TRAIN !
-
Haven't cooked in a few days - bet eveyone is starving. Got up early this morning and made breakfast for everyone. ENJOY!
-
Sandeeonherown My back too gave out due to all the stress, hopefully that chiropractor can put you back together.....there is nothing worse than back pain....GOOD LUCK!!!
Dawney hope you are feeling better soon!
Ladies already a better day today.....I hate this as I never used to be so up and down like this......This all started about 2 months ago, it just seems so weird that it took this long to have these kind of SE......got up did the treadmill for 30 minutes and feel pretty good......still have not gotten my period, ho hum!!! The weather is supposed to be in the 40's and tomorrow and Friday in the 50's....YIPEE!!!!!!
Jo I am hungry, what is for breakfast or maybe lunch today?
Tink that dust really worked....thanks for being so caring!!! LOL
-
Jo you must have been making breakfast when I was typing.......look at you girl!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!
-
Jo,
That breakfast looks fantastic!!

I am feeling soooo good these days I can hardly stand it. Now I remember what it was like before BC. Pretty much back to my old self. The weather has warmed up which helps with the attitude tremendously as well as keep the toe pains down. No other SEs from Tamox - hope it stays that way. I am able to take the whole dose at breakfast with no problems. I just throw it in with the mix of the other ones I take in the morning and forget it.
I am off today and have a list of things to get done today. Have laundry to do, give the dog a bath and do some planning for our cruise which sails in 59 days but I am not counting.
Just finished breakfast and should think about getting dressed. Let's see what can come with for lunch today.

Thyroid disease runs in families, so if your doctor doesn't check you regularly, then I would find a new doctor. I have a sister who is hypo thyroid, I am hypo thyroid, I have a niece who is hypo thyroid, and another sister who is hyper thyroid, but now, due to radio active iodine treatment, she is hypo thyroid.

I just want to say thanks to all of you out there. You are an inspiration to me. I think I will try the Gycine for the sleeping. And, will try to get back on the tamoxifen. Good to know that it's not that expensive. I am checking into ways that i can get medical assistance here. My post from feb 11th is so depressing compared to all of yours. I enjoy reading yours and am looking forward to the day when I will be positive and be able to be helpful to others. Again, I thank you! You are all so brave and so inspiring!

Met my new MO yesterday and love him. He spent 1 1/2 hours with my DH and me going over everything from my original pathology to now in great detail. I don't think a stone was left unturned, now I can feel much better about the direction I am heading. As far as my SE from tamox he is working with me on that as well. Wants to see me once a month until my SE are resolved then I can go to every three months.
dksindistress-don't worry about depressing post. If you read mine from yesterday it was pretty depressing as well. This group is great for support and we can be free to let it all out.
-
Sherry - Great news that you love your new MO. That is so important since he is the person we are destined to see for the rest of our lives. Hope he can come up with a workable plan to resolve your SEs.
-
JUNE//So glad you slept better, let me know I have a bunch of that fairy dust hanging around lol!!!
Jo.. yummy on the breakfast again!!!! and I lone Hello Kitty
-
JO ~ nice breakfast and hello kitty is pretty cute ! I too set sail on a cruise in about 60 days... cannot wait. I am hitting it hard at the gym and trying to minimize carbs knowing I have to put on a bathing suit soon......
June ~ glad you are feeling a bit better today with your mood swings. Maybe the exercise will help set off some positive endorphins. Lord knows winter can cause the HO HUMS in general. I know it does for me. I am such a creature of sunshine ! I need it badly...... I am happy to see it shining today.
DKS ~ you are brave too !!! Stay strong sister. Try to tell yourself everyday is a gift as tomorrow is promised to no one. Hang in there.... AND definately don't worry about depressing posts. We are here for each other !
Tinker ~ so nice of you to share your fairy dust !
Sherry ~ Glad you like your new doctor. Sounds like he is on top of things ~
Harley and everyone..Have a good rest of the day girls !

Alicia - Okay! Want details on your cruise. What cruise line? How many days? Where are you going out of and what ports are you going to? I am being nosey.
We leave out of Galveston, TX on Apr 17th. We sail on the Carnival Conquest for 7 days to Montego Bay, Jamaica, Cayman Islands and Cozumel. We will be in the Caymans on my 56th birthday. Plan on snorkeling in Cozumel - they have a great snorkel excursion. We have been on this ship 3 times already and don't care where the ship sails to - we are not at work and that is all that matters. We have not done all the shore excursions in each of the ports although we do the same thing each time in Cozumel.
Here is a little something to get us ready for the sail away party! One for you and one for me
-
dksindistress- hang in there as some days are going to be better than others.....I had a lousy day yesterday and feel so much better today! These women are fantastic and never complain when I vent!!!! The advice and knowledge everyone has is incredible......
-
JO ~ too funny we are going out of Orlando, FL we leave on Apr. 16. We are going to Belize, Isla Rotan, Cozumel and someplace else I can't remember.... Thanks for the tropical drink.
-
Hi all,
quick traveling question:
tomorrow I get on an airplane for a nice long flight somewhere [guess where!]. I downloaded an app for in-seat yoga and another for travel exercises to keep things circulating but wondered if I need to take any other precautions.
I have never had issues with flying---has anyone on tamox had any flying problems?
thanks all!
-
- I have been to Belize and loved it. Haven't been to Isla Roatan. We would have to go to New Orleans to get there. What cruise line?
Here is a thought - we leave the DHs at home - you and I go and we could get out drinks served by him. What do you think?
-
woo HOO Jo ! We are also going on Carnival Dream
-
Alicia - What day are you going to be in Cozumel? We will be there on Fri, Apr 22nd. If you are there the same day,, maybe we can get together for lunch.
Isn't the Dream one of the newest ships? Bet it is gorgeous.

Not sure what forum to ask this, but does anyone have any advice about hot flashes and menopause? Crazy how just eight months ago I was worried about being on my period during my mastectomy. At least there's no more pms, but I think menopause is worse. I HATE HOT FLASHES!
-
Cruises are awesome... hope you have a great time. Love the drinks and that adorable lil pool boy lol!!!!!
-
dks - If you are on Tamoxifen or any of the AIs you can ask your MO about a script for Effexor. It is an antidepressant that is often used to control hot flashes. Many have tried it and are getting relief. Or you can talk to your MO about some alternatives since anything estrogen is out of the question.
-
Thanks June...chiropractor got some movement out of me today but I am pretty darn stuck and had trouble getting off he #$%^$^&& table!!! two more sessions booked and another massage....stress, not sleeping = going over on my ankle and then compensating with my back...should have gone earlier when it first hit but shoulda.coulda, woulda, hmm?..hang in there, hmm? I had a bad few days too...full moon tomorro or Friday ..all connected hmm>>
