shoulder pain

Hi All

I've been getting pain under my right shoulder blade and down into my hand off and on for the past two weeks.

I had a ct scan of the neck and upper spine which showed nothing

I'm a bit freaked out and not sure what could cause this?

Any advice? Could i have mets in my shoulder. could it be referred pain from the liver

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but I thought I'd stop and bump your thread for you, hoping more people will see it.     Deanna

I had a pain like this also that ended up being a pinched nerve which only show up on MRI's.  I would bring it up to your dr. again. It took a couple of times of me mentioning it to get something done.  Hope you get some answers soon.

I had a CT Scan this past December for right should pain I have been having since early November. It showed nothing. I am still having the pain, but trying not to let it bother me. Hang in there!

    Any chance it's lymphedema?

Chemo-even months later-can cause all kinds of nasty thing. My right knee swelled up with bursitis 1 year after I finished. I just all of a sudden developed knee pain. Do you use that shoulder repetetively? It could be from over use or neuropathy. Chemo is good yet has nasty SE.

As others have said, there are lots of reasons for pain, so try not to worry too much.  I have had pain in my right shoulder from liver mets, but it wasn't the same as you are describing (mine was on the very top of my shoulder between my neck/shoulder and it never radiated down my arm).  Still, any persistent pain lasting longer than a few weeks should probably be checked out.  Best of luck to you!

I got the results of the mri which showed osteoarthritis of my neck which is causing the pain. I'm only 38 and have a problem of an over 50 year old. I blame this on chemo. Does a number on the joints.

All i can say is thank god it's not cancer. thank you all for your support

hi.  just hoping that you can get some good help with the pain... I'm a PT -- do you have someone who can help you out with  some treatment?  It would be good to have some deep massage, stretching, etc...  there is a gentle cervical traction technique which can also relieve pain.  I had to ask my doctor for a referral to PT even though I am one.  I had treatment from a friend of mine and benefited so much.  It was so nice to have someone help my battered body and gently listen to my fears.... it's been a few years since then... hate those scares!!!

    blessings, Wendy
