Morning all!  Hope today is the day your brother comes off the vent, Barbara.

If we weren't all craisy we would go insane, unfortunately some are bigger fruitcakes than others!  Sitting here in my Calgary Flames jersey, eating Canadian bacon, and listening to KD Lang.

    OH Canada!

If you doubt somebody has you on ignore, try PMing them. If you are on ignore, it will not go through.

    Good morning everyone..........

Rosemary there is no reason for you to apologize to me......you didn't offend me.......you just don't speak for anyone but yourself...........hope your Mom taught you that as well.......I know mine did....

And many are right about the ignore button.......if someone "offends" you don't have to read their posts even if you read this thread.........

and I do find it interesting that some stupid byline from some stupid movie has so many of the left leaning sisters up in arms.........

You guys do a lot of "teasing" about conservatives here such as Sarah Palin and when we get offended it just seems to please you even more.......someone here even posted that parody news article that had already a day before been proved to be a parody and thought it was true........

Could not wait to give Sarah Palin another slam.........it does appear you guys can dish out the "jokes" but are a bit thin skin when the joke is on you........shokk

    No Shokk

MY mother taught me to speak up for anybody that I saw being oppressed or abused. I believe that people can speak for others. If that was not so why would we have elected representatives in federal, state and local government?

Since you believe I can only speak for myself though, I personally will not speak about Sarah Palin on this thread if you  personally ask me not to.

And if it is just some stupid byline from some stupid movie, why not get rid of it?

    Go Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have spoken up for the poor women in my area .. and all those who are poor and uninsured or underinsured.  In the past, I've been asked to speak for the Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program in my area.

On a personal level, Tim and I stand up for the abused and helpless when we see it in person.  We helped a poor young woman who was being abused by her boyfriend at the mall.

I speak for the poor and disenfranchised.  And I speak for all of them ... not just one or two.

Geez, a woman goes to sleep for a few hours an wakes up to five pages of posts! We stopped with too many restaurants a long time ago due to the poor quality of food...BUT, sometimes I just want it. Like anything I don't think a little will kill me. There is nothing like a heaping plate of good chinese food filled with MSG! There is a healthy japanese place near my house that excels at producing better food than I ever good dream of and I love it, BUT there are times I NEED my bad chinese food:) Some people want a shot of whiskey while gimme an eggroll and I will do the happy dance.

As for the deleters...it is kind of silly as this is a place for women that have been hurt beyond imagination, experincing horrors nobody should ever have to. So, we come here and vent and sometimes say the most outrageous things. Who knows if all is true? Maybe some are just tossing these things out to pick a fight so they have "something" to fight...instead of BC. It is harmless, really, we can always log off or go to another forum. Right, left or inbetween, we all got here pretty much the same way. I am betting we would even all agree on the fact that none of us wishes any of us ever had to be here. I love you all, even those I don't understand, but I wish I could have met you another way. But I didn't. So there it is. And it is a good thing. For in addition to cocking my head to the side when a post really seems insane (to me) , I also find myself thinking about others instead of my silent enemy BC...when you hurt, so do I and that is proof to me that I am still whole. US, Canada, Europe, Egypt, Turkey, you name it, we will have an opinion on it. But I am just betting that let any sistah from anywhere say she is in pain and fear and there is not one among us who would not rush to help her. The rest is just filler for us. Our own form of antidepressant. How cool is it we can say all this whackyass stuff?! Now bring on the half nekkid mounties and gimme a cup of good java followed by a shot of some really decadent dessert that I am not supposed to have. Then I will get up and shake my rock hard TEs in a happy dance celebration of life...:)

My Ray of Sunshine paid for an older couple's groceries when they were looking for change in their wallet to pay for it.  He also takes care if me, a very sick woman.  He is 12 years younger than me and quite a looker.  That's the kind of heart we have in Canada.....OK so I'm a cougar!

Shokk, I have a great sense of humour and its even greater now.  The following pic will tell you why.  That's me, the next day.  It was quite an experience having someone drill holes into youur head while you were awake. Puts a whole new perspective on life. Let's argue and discuss, but no deleting or hitting below the belt.....OK?

    shokk,

I never thought the parody was true.  I posted with the intention of immediately following up with another post saying it was a parody.  Some other posts intervened spoiling the timing.  I explained it at the time.

There is a difference between teasing in a post and having something in a signature line.  I can understand why "stop Canada" in your signature line can be offensive to some.  A post is a one time tease.  A signature line is for personal belief.  Can you see the difference?

Shok's sig line doesn't bug me...I just look at the source...  Of course all hell would break loose if there was a Stop USA sig line but I don't think anyone else here would be so rude as to have one.

Ironjaw - thanks for the KD Lang - loved it then - love it now - love it forever.  DH and I saw her twice - once before she was famous in Calgary at the Stampede in one of the outlying stages wearing a dress and boots with the punk haircut before there were punk haircuts - then when she was mega famous in (of all places) Greenville, SC singing with Tony Bennett - sold out show people came from Charlotte, Columbia, Atlanta - DH and I had front row seats - KD wore pantsuit and BAREFEET!

you are beautiful blue, the quiet dignity and strength in your eyes looking out saying, yep, still here:)! Yeah!

As for the TEs, oh, they aren't so bad, but my exchange will be the middle or end of March. PS is taking this one fill at a time to get it "perfect" (he is such an ego dog, thank goodness, I like my surgeons with a healthy ego and the talent to back it up) I actually pat my TEs all the time:) They are odd and more so as the nerves reconnect throughout. But, on the whole they actually amaze me. I've always despaired that I have never planted and maintained a true vegetable garden and here I am growing new boobs!@ what a world:) what i try to do is find positives in the whole deal (since some of the time i have such inexplicable and misplaced rage I am a true beast). Like the fact I could wear that coolass strapless dress to see Cher- that never would have happened with the old girls...poor things would have been mashed like pancakes...I am more of a nudie now...I always covered up no matter how good I a may of looked my body was never what I wanted to be...nothing like a little BC to put it in perspective...now the challenge is keeping clothes on! It is not that I don't care anymore how I look, ha, I will always be weird that way but somehow it freed me. I am alive, put together with spit and good wishes and well, hell, I actually do the happy dance as I still can't quite believe what is going on. The marvel of being human is that we adapt. When the darkness sets in I just hunker in my bedcave and snarl at anyone who dares enter my realm. But most of the time I pat myself and say, oh my god, there are boobs growing here! How amazing! We had a pat fest at the office yesterday. Very odd but so funny. People are curious and so many were/are so worried about me and bc...so it relieved some of the fears and we could laugh. Even as senior manager at work my other most important role has always kind of been to keep everyone's spirits up in an atmosphere where most of the power is in male hands...except for me! I am the lone ranger so to speak, I snuck through the glass ceiling when they weren't looking and now, it is made of concrete reinforced with steel rods. So I gotta keep an eye out for the kinfolk. When we all trooped out of the manager's lounge (which I had locked) a couple of the guys asked what we were doing in there and why were NON-managers in there...I said..I was showing em my new boobs, figured best to do in private. The look on the guys' faces was priceless. I added that I had also given everyone free drinks to whomever wanted them  (only WE get free cokes, juice, etc)...the horror! Quandry for a couple of my adversaries (only really have one or two there)...I mean what were they gonna tell the boss...I would have paid to sit in on that conversation:) We all embrace this in the best way we can. Soemtimes I cry, sometimes I laugh. Come to think of it, that's how its always been. I am different than before BC but also the same in a lot of ways. All of us are. AND FOR GOODNESS SAKE I CANNOT STOP TYPING TODAY I AM SO SORRY FOR GOING ON AND ON AND ON:) Gonna go hit the resale shops for a bit and buy something I do not need and try to figure out who owned it before I did and what was their story?!

KD at the Olympics was amazing -- better than that -- I was stunned by the beauty of her singing.

I used to only get up on Saturdays to watch PeeWee Herman's Playhouse.  And his first movie.

Annetekk -- You are beyond adorable -- I love your posts!

I did think of fixing up my lumpectomy boob since so much was hacked out.  But now I'm a bit attached to it's meerkat face.  It looks just like a meerkat when I raise my arm - cracks me up all the time.

I saw her several times when I lived in Alberta.  Probably one of my favorite KD moments was in the closing ceremonies at the '88 Olympics.  She just has so much personality, and it was wonderful seeing those staid, conservative Russian athletes come out of their seats, and onto the stage to dance to the music and mingle with the other athletes.  We had tickets to several of the events, but that was my favorite.
