I want an ipod or some kind of music when I walk!! WAHWAH WAH! haha I just talk to myself, just kidding
Did a good uphill treadmill and stretching last night over an hour!
Tonight I brought my sweats to change into after work (about 10 more minutes from now!) and will walk around the golf course community, which is hilly. My legs are really sore from the weight workout along with the other exercise! I walked at lunch, but ony got 15 min in when a guy starting waving and called my name, it was an old coworker. So we caught up before I realized I talked the rest of my hour away! I do love to gab!
Diane, it was super windy and cold north winds here yesterday, but today is gorgeous and no winds!! Very touching about your daughter's essay, I'm sure it will be tough on you when she's away. I miss my girls everyday...
Pitpat, you are very inspiring to me WOW!!! and 7 yr old twins to boot! YOU GO GIRL! Rooting for ya!
Stay warm and safe all!

chemo day went well. The decadron still has me wired, but it is best to fight it...so I'm logging my miles on the internet and will do a bit of floor work beside my bed tonight.
I'm glad I found this board! Your words and actions are inspiring.
kfinn..I'm a mom of 5 kids actually (7,7,10 almost 11, 14, and 15....six kids if you count the 47 year old hubby

June
I LOVE my Kindle!
I also have an iPod shuffle! It's great when it is warm enough to go outside for walks or runs.Harley
-
I am thinking of getting a kindle for my Bday this spring!
Deanna, I am glad your kneee is getting better. My knees are almost all better - I stopped 2 weight machines and am off them for the time being. Do not want to mess up my knees!!
I did weights today before Yoga, and then yoga!! Tomorrow is the elliptial. Tuesday was a no exercise day! My circle ladies from church came over so I was too busy getting ready after work! But that's okay, one day off a week actually feels kinda good!
Go Pit Pat!!
-
PitPat of course you have to count the husband as a kid.
-
PitPat, that Decadron really had me going... I was AWAKE all night, and I was OH SO HUNGRY!
Oh, this brings back memories.... but I can't say that I like them... glad that time is over. You will be finished before you know it, too!

Light yoga for me last night. Put the lights on low and my major light was from a fire in the fireplace. I love doing yoga that way, really puts my head in a good place
-
How well I remember that Decadron high, PitPat -- buzzing around and ravaging the fridge like a starving person! I learned afterwards that tapering the Decadron can help that, as well as the severe crashing. Don't know if your onc does that, but you might ask if you're currently getting it all at once.
kmmd ~ Love the image of yoga by firelight!
Harley, the Servan-Schreiber book is an easy read, chock full of interesting patient stories. I don't have a Kindle, but I would be surprised if it wasn't available.
Absolutely glorious walking weather here today! I felt so fortunate to be outdoors, and motivated to keep going, knowing that most of you are dealing with ice, snow and cold. I was a bit disappointed when I realized my pedometer wasn't working, but I'm sure I walked at least 5 miles based on the time it took me. Deanna
-
Deanna,
You GO, girl! FIVE miles!! Wow!!
I will have to go look for that book now... hope I can get it on Kindle...
Harley -
well the snow never got here but the cold did. But on a lighter note it is suppose to be in the 60's next week.
My son makes sure I have all the tech stuff. He gave me his ipod when he updated his and left the music on it for me. That is all I listen to in the car now. He also gave me the kindle for Xmas. He went ahead and got the larger one(9") and the one that can read to me!! (Harley the book is on kindle)
I have the puppies till next week. My dog sitter gave me a day at the spa for my mutt!! She said after dealing with the pups she needs it. My Dd has been very good with the little ones. Last night she put the balls on the bed so no one could get them. It is like a circus at my home now.
It is almost 6 and still daylight out. That is a good sign. Everyone keep moving.
-
Kmmd, mmmmm, that sounds like a nice way to do yoga!! I never tried that. sounds wonderful.
Deanna, glad you are back to walking up a storm! Your knee must be all better!
I did 45 minutes on the elliptical tonight. Tomorrow weights again!
We had a dusting of snow, maybe half inch. But then it got sunny and it all dissappeared! Poof!
-
I moved around today...as good as day 2poat chemo gets!
I'm hooked on all the weight loss shows (X-Weighted, Biggest Loser, Last 10 Pound Boot Camp, ect). I love seeing the motivation and know I'll be up there again in a few days.
We have lots of snow here still but thats the way it goes in my part of the country (West Kootenays). Spring is forecasted to come early, but I'll be on the coast for 7 weeks getting radiation with the cherry blossoms raining down on me as I walk through the streets of Vancouver.
Thanks.

I'v been busy taking care of lose ends the past few days in preparation for my return to New Orleans for Stage 2 reconstruction. I've had an overwhelming urge to stand Barney up the past two days. Each morning I've managed to work myself past it and continue my time on the elliptical. I think I need a personal trainer to set me up with a workout. I think the reason I'm starting to peter out is that I've seen no change in my body or weight and it's been 39 days straight, well okay minus 1 workout day! Even though my elliptical machine has me changing things up every few minutes -- forward you own pace, pushing, pulling, backwards, fast minute, etc -- I think I need to add some weight training. I think a few well-chosen exercises with weights may be the ticket. But since I'm leaving for NOLA on Tuesday, and then won't be able to cardio for 6 weeks, it doesn't make sense to hire her now. I'm hoping, like the rest of you, that spring will arrive soon and I can take lovely long walks.
In case I don't check in again until after my surgery, keep up the great work ladies! You are all amazing!! Stay healthy!
-
dbdaze,
Good luck with your reconstruction surgery. I'll be thinking about you, and praying for a speedy recovery.
Harley
-
Dbdaze good luck and please keep us posted as to how you are doing!!!!
-
Daze, it's really coming up? Wow!
I also almost skipped elliptical last night. My family is wrestling with putting my mom in nursing home, and i am just so sad. But, I got on it and did it.
Today is Friday. YAY!!! Weights today.
-
Hi all - just checking in to say hello to you all, hope everyone is doing well. I'm still keeping up the Wii Fit and have added some walking and stretches to my exercise routine now. I'm down to 135 lbs (that's almost 100lbs lighter than when I started in the Fall of 2009). I will never forget all the encouragement I got from you ladies and I still draw from all the advice you gave so generously.
Sorry I haven't read all the past months posts but I did notice one thing - Kari congratulations - I bet you are are an awesome Gran!!
Have a great Valentine's weekend!!
-
Ainm congrats!!!!You should be so proud!
dbdaze you are in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery!
-
ANIM!! That is so awesome!!! almost 100 pounds!!! YOU GO GIRL!!! You are an inspiration!
I did the weights today! I am in and out of there in about 30 min. Love the routine! My arms are now so toned. I don't have middle-aged lady arms!!! Feels and looks good!!! Sleeveless weather coming !

LIARS.... ALL OF THEM!!
-
Hello ladies I hear we are going to have a warm up next week and possibly have temps in the 50's......I am so happy as there needs to be alot of melting happening here in Mass......
Hoping you ladies have a fantastic weekend and congrats to Ainm on 100lb weight loss! You look marvelous in your profile pic.....
-
Harley, HA HA HA HA HA!! You crack me up girl!
-
Oh Ainm, truly wonderful.
Spring, sorry to hear about your Mom.
Missing the weights myself, still on restrictions and my arms have definitely lost some muscle. Yuck. Did Yoga by firelight tonight, that put me in a good mood. Totally getting into that this winter, sure makes the early dusk enjoyable. Now as the days get longer I will miss that but know Spring is right around the corner, and when the days get short again I know what to do next Fall to enjoy the change
-
did 45 minutes on the elliptial today, was not that enjoyable. DH was watching Dr. Who (ugh) for the first half and it was torture! Then we watched Blue Bloods, and the time flew. i will just have to insist on no Dr. Who when I am on the elliptical. It does not hold my attention!!! Sorry!!! he he he.
-
Walk-eliptical-walk-run-walk-elliptical...... alternated over and over and over an hour went really fast. Fun work out
-
kmmd good for you, sounds like a great workout!
Springtime you are such an inspiration......you are the workout QUEEN!!!
Harley I heard at the end of this week it is going to hit the low 50's.....I cannot wait, I am so excited!
Happy Sunday ladies!
-
June, I have heard that some time next week, maybe Tues., it's SUPPOSED to be in the low 60's here... but I don't believe it. It is SUNNY here today, but still very COLD...
In case you haven't noticed, really HATE COLD weather!
-
Harley I am with you and I am more productive with exercise when it is warmer outside......I tend to pack on a few pounds no matter how hard I try in the winter, but I always manage to lose in the summer......Cannot wait to just be outside!
-
I'm with you, June!!
Can't wait for SPRING!
Harley
-
Weather here was gorgeous, SUNNY!!! Soon we will all be outside!
Hi June!
Today did the weight routine at the gym AND 45 minutes on the elliptical (today we watched the movie "Enchanted" - very cute!). PLUS we went to church, helped our daughter to taxes, went to the Pink Ribbon Yoga meeting!!! Good day!!!
