Hi, I want to ask how many treatmets do you get in a day. I mean how many rad. pictures will they give you in a day. Does it vary from person to person. Are the locations similar for those who did mastectomy. I have 3 images..neck and unde part of collar bone, then the surgery site, and then the side of the breast. So I have 3..is that normal. I mean why do I get 3 not one and why not on surgery sit only. Have you ever asked, or is it normal. Have no idea about my boost, my doc did not talk about it.

I keep thing that the doc saw something and does not wat to tell me..might be negative thoughts, but that is how I feel....

Yep. It's normal. That's what they've offered me. Breast, underarm, and collarbone. Those are the areas where breast cancer can reappear as a "locoregional recurrence."

I have three too; one where the machine is positioned above and slightly to the side opposite the breast being radiated; then it moves across and does two from different angles next to the breast being radiated.

Polyana, what you're getting sounds totally appropriate, but why don't you ask your rad onc the next time you meet with him/her?  It sounds like you would benefit from having a clearer idea of what they're doing, especially to rid your mind of the idea that they saw something they haven't told you about.  I'm sure he/she can explain the purpose of each RT angle they're doing, and also explain the logic of a boost, if you're getting one.  I would absolutely ask them to give you a more thorough explanation of your tx plan.   Deanna

I had 4 sites:  chest wall(across my incision line),under arm, above collarbone area, and center of chest to get my internal mammary gland.  It took 30min for me to get this done each day.  I was glad to go after all the cancer in those areas!  Maybe your doctor would explain to you the reasoning of your therapy.
