Getting Sleeve But Have Questions

Hi Ladies ~

I went yesterday to get measured for a sleeve.  My LE is Mild but I'm very active and my LE Therapist suggested I wear a sleeve when exercising, over using the arm, riding horses, etc. since these activities tend to make my arm achy/painful.

Binney & Kira....you had also recommended that I wear a sleeve but you also mentioned to add a gauntlet to keep fluid from possibly being pushed down to the hand.  The place that I went to that sells the LE sleeve has one with the gauntlet built in (so it is a one piece).  How do you feel about that type instead of buying a separate sleeve and gauntlet?  They didn't have my size so they have ordered one for me.  If anyone thinks the "one piece gauntlet/sleeve combo" is a bad choice, please let me know.  It's on back order, so I would still have time to get the order changed.

Thank you and thoughts from anyone would be greatly appreciated!

CAW, good or not-so-good, depending on what you want/need. Maybe you want the flexibility of removing the gauntlet to eat or wash the dishes.Smile Or maybe you want the convenience of one piece -- and the assurance that you won't forget where you put the gauntlet when you take it off to eat or wash the dishes.Undecided Either's fine. Some women here like the one-piece because there's no overlap at the wrist. I'm bilateral, so separate sleeves/gloves are essential so I can remove the glove for such mundane activities as...uh, going to the bathroom, say.Embarassed Since you only have one arm involved the one-piece is just fine.

    Keep us posted!

I like having 2 pieces, personally, since I do not wash  my sleeve as much as I wash my gauntlet, so I've ordered 2 gauntlets when I've ordered sleeves.  Seems like I'm always doing things with my hands/gauntlets which I'm glad for a replacement.

I would think the all in one would be difficult to put on but if it works for you then why worry.

As far as cleaning, I wear my glove & sleeve when I clean all the time. I wear latex gloves over my glove. I'm not sure how this would work with a gauntlet though.

The guantlet didn't work for me.  I need a glove but I Haven't gotten you get because they are more expensive.  From what I ready they can be difficult to fit.  I love wearing my sleeves.  My arms feel more normal when I wear it. NJ

CAW, the one piece eliminates the "band" that can occur with two pieces, but IMO it's a royal pain, and especially in a barn, you'll want to take your glove and gauntlet off, without shucking your jacket and sleeve.

    Just my opinion.

And I do find hand pieces take a beating. Gauntlets are relatively inexpensive to replace.
