Vitamin B Supreme

Options

Good Evening,

Does anyone take Vitamin B Supreme? It's suppose to help with weight loss, energy. Is this a safe supplement? I don't want to cause my body to produce more estrogen. I'm paranoid - ha!

Thanks all :)

I don't know what it is, but if it's a B Complex, you are fine taking it. I  take a sublingual B Complex vitamin, and it's good for energy and nerves, digestion. I don't know about weight loss, but it' s a good water soluable supplement that just helps your whole system run more efficiently!

Is Vitamin B Supreme a trade name? My herbologist recommended Vit B to boost my immune system and help stave off recurrence, but I have to ask her next time I see her if she meant vit B12 or something else. All I know is B12 is supposed to be great for fighting fatigue but contraindicated for some blood-related issue. I think if you are a bleeder or on blood thinners you can't take it. Don't know about estrogen-positive BC. I'm not positive for estrogen. But I'll get back to you on whatever I hear.  I see my herbologist Tuesday. She has me on Reishi mushroom capsules (They have other ingredients, but the label's in Chinese so I dont know what they are :) I trust her though; she's well educated and highly  respected in the complimentary medicine arena.

Hey if you get a chance will you check out my website www.1UpOnCancer.com I do a bit on herbs, supplements, cancer-fighting recipes, but other stuff too. Happy weekend (a day early)

    Hi,

Great to read this thread.  I am being treated by 2 holistic therapists while I do the medical TX dance, so I am never sure whawt is contraindicated with chemo AC-T and what isn't. I spoke to the nutritionist at Sloan-Kettering about an all-organic diet, and she said that there have been no studies that confirmed its beneficial effects.  But intuitively I want to go that route.  Whawt do y'all do about 100% organic---only on certain foods or all?  Supplements other than B6?

    Thanks,

    Lynne

I do Reishi capsules (it's a compound with other ingredients, and I  don't know exactly what they are because the label is in Chinese :) But I get them from my herbologist who I trust as much as any practitioner on this topic. She prescribes them for their high concentration of anti-oxidants and ability to help with fatigue and  anxiety. Some naturopaths believe that green tea extract with Reishi is good. Also, milk thistle for detoxing liver and this part is still not proven, but milk thistle may help target certain cancers. At the very least it has lots of antioxidant. Also as far as what foods to eat organic, here's an article I researched and wrote on that ... http://www.1uponcancer.com/2011/02/06/best-foods-and-veggies-to-buy-organic/#more-1993

You'll find articles on my site about other herbs and supplements and a tab you might be interested in is Anti-cancer Recipes/Nutrition. Besides the recipes, there's info on diet and supplements from MD Anderson, Mayo and a few other other cancer centers. Hope this helps. What supplements are you doing? Can you tell if they're helping?

Isn't it just B - complex?  B vitamins are important!  They are present in the food we eat.....

Lawteach - I try only (mostly) to bring organic foods in my house.  Sometimes certain things are not available, so when I cannot afford or get a certain organic item I only will buy it if it is a thick skin item.  Always organic strawberries, peach, blueberries....... Trader Joe's has some organic which is my first choice, another local store and Whole Foods ( aka Whole Paycheck) is the last place I go as they are too expensive.

If we had cancer is just makes sense to me to go Organic, who needs pesticides right?

Have you  ladies seen the Dirty Dozen list? It references 12 produce that if you buy organic, will supposedly reduce pesticide consumption by 80 percent. You  can google the list or find it on my website.
