cjwo57- You put it perfectly! I am now a "survivor" of kidney cancer and breast cancer but have not gone through chemo for either. I also at times feel very guilty for that and also lucky. I am however now missing a kidney, ovaries, a uterus, and 2 breasts because of cancer. I live with the scars and pain from reconstruction every single day. I also feel that I am looking over my sholder at times waiting for the next bomb to drop.

When I was diagnosed with DCIS, my BS told me it was the best case scenario. After a lumpectomy did not get clear margins and IDC was found, I opted for a BiMX. As I sat in my BS office post surgery with drains hanging out and mangled in the front and back (lat flap), she told me I was overtreated for DCIS but agreed to the MX because of my cancer history and the reccomendation of my oncologist. She corrected herself when the pathology came back with DCIS in my other breast also.

Every woman on these boards have their own personal journies and should be commended for what they have gone through.
