Hey there,

Im not triple neg, but figured id get answers here :) Im 2 1/2 years out of chemo, and still have tons of aches and pains, backache, legs ache.  I know alot of women have pains, and say its from hormonals, but im not on hormonals, so i was wondering how many of us are not on them, but still have the aches and pains?  I swear it was chemo that gave them to me!

Thanks for any responses :)

Laura

I, and my oncologist, think you are totally correct.  Chemo can leave many women with many aches and pains that they never had prior to treatment.  I especially feel it even more on very cold or rainy days.  You are not alone - not by a longshot!

Laura, I'm not TripleNegative and I'm not on hormonals (although I do use a natural aromatese inhibitor), and I think I hurt as much as women who report aches & pains from A/I's.  I think chemo definitely can mess you up, and in my case, I was on HRT prior to my bc dx, so removing that was a HUGE factor for me.    Deanna

Laura, I think the damage from both the Taxanes and Neulasta can be quite lasting, although hopefully ease with time.  That's just my first-hand experience.  You might also get one of your docs to check your estrogen levels.  Even at 40, yours might be extremely low due to chemo, and I think that's the bottom line (low estrogen) that causes a lot of our aches & pains -- whether it happens naturally or due to pharmaceuticals (both chemo and estrogen modulating drugs).

Are you getting enough exercise?  I know it's counter-intuitive when you hurt, but it usually helps a lot to stretch, move and work to rebuild your muscles, which Taxol and Taxotere are extremely hard on.    Deanna

    Second anything being said.

Oh the aches and pains are somthing else I feel like a little old lady. Hopefully this will pass with time. It's nothing I can't handle, but geesh enough already.
