Radiation side lumpy bumpy?
Celebrated my 2 year cancer free (since mamo) on Sunday. I had to go for my yearly mamo yesterday, Tech wanted to know if anything was new and mentioned that I have some lumpy bumpy stuff below where my breast use to be. So they Ultrasound the area. Onc will determine if I need to have a biopsy on Weds.
Do any of you Stage 3 girls have sort of ridges where the lowest part of your breast use to be?
I personally think it is scar tissue, or maybe fat necrosis, maybe denial but........ don't want to get into worry about this, life is too short (so the saying goes!)

It can definitely be scar tissue or fat necrosis. Deep breaths!

My money is on scar tissue too!
Try and not to think about it until Wed. No point ruining your weekend, when it is probably nothing.
Let us know what you find out.

i have a "ridge with some swelling" at various times above my auxillary node scar line. they check every time i go for mammo.....i seems to be some inflamation that flares up. it is most likely from the rads i got for all the pos nodes i had. my onc checks it and so does the mammo doc...every 6 months. it is kinda bumpy too. initially it freaked me out when it showed up a few years ago....but now i just get it ultrasounded or MRI and then i don't think about it.
hope your bumps are B9 and scar tissue,,,,etc.

Thanks girls!
I am thinking the same thing. My skin on my radiation side is thrashed. If I wear a bra I get red dots. I am really not too worried, I won't say that it hasn't crossed my mind but I really do think nothing is abnormal.

Yep, had a ridge just below the scar line on the radiated side. Got worse if I did not work the tissue. I noticed that the arm movement from jogging made it decrease in size (very slowly). Probably because I was working the tissue so much.

So I saw one of the Oncologist and the Ultrasound should that is was scar tissue. Sooooo glad!

Congratulations SusieMTM!
I am so happy it turned out well and you came back on to let us know. I hate feeling scared over every little thing. I had a huge lump on my good side that I had a reduction on when I had my masectomy. It turned out to be fat necrosis. It feels bigger all the time and I am still nervous about it even though I had a clean mammo and ultrasound. I have the bumpy lump stuff on my masectomy side too, but my oncologist says it is scar tissue.

I guess we take it one test at a time. LOL While I was pretty sure it was scar tissue, there is still that what if........
Just glad every thing is OK. I am doing so much better on Tamoxifen! Even starting to increase my exercise.......so onward and upward!

Thats great news!

Been too busy to get online, but love coming back to good news. So happy all is well.

Congrats Susie.

It is always a delight to hear happy news on here! My oncologist suggested for me to do gentle but firm massage of all the area to break up any scar tissue. Even this long after surgery I still do it and can feel the difference.
All good thoughts sent to my bc friends!
