Anyone had an excisional biopsy with implants?

Options

I'm having an excisional biopsy of a small nodule in the left breast near chest wall on Friday and I have silicone implants s/p bilat mx from 2008. The surgeon is doing an ultrasound guided biopsy so she can see what to cut, but I'm a little nervous about her puncturing the implant. Anyone had experience with this?

I've had a needle biopsy over an implant.  Radiolgist also used an ultrasound to guide her. She went in sideways to the cyst rather than go straight down.  I had asked my PS about what to do if I ever needed a biopsy with an implant and he said to make certain that the person doing the procedure is experienced. He also said he would be glad to do the procedure.

Terrific! Thanks for the info. The surgeon has been doing nothing but breast surgery since 1978 so I feel pretty comfortable with her, but I just met her in December. I'm a little apprehensive, but she came highly recommended from 3 women I work with. I guess I should relax.
