Thinking Out Loud.....

Sheila - I think you mean paella...?
-
Sheila ! your dish looks yummy. If you can post the receipe it would be my pleasure as I want to try it here with small size prawns. Yesterday I made roti..
-
I believe that paella and payaya are similar, but the seasonings are different. But I think both lend themselves to the whims of those making it. Doesn't paella have saffron in the rice?
-
If you ever go down to Ports O'Call Village near San Pedro (The cruise port in Long Beach, CA) you can get shrimp fajitas if you are hungry for seafood. You won't be if you finish the platter. Remember to share one order.
-
I'm getting worried about our east coast friends - I hope they have power....
-
Good Morning...My area hardly loose power. Thanks Diane.
Even if it does we still have heat and water.
It looks like Planet of Ice today. All schools are closed. All buses are suspended.
No BBB today
My cloth's line turned to ice. Trees are covered with ice some of them look so heavy. It is not a very pleasant day today,
-
I hope MA and CT Sisters have power.
Meece....I read something about the waves in North Shore (you posted on another thread). Now they are high my FSIL goes surfing there.
-
I hope you will stay in today or at least stay off the ice
Stay warm Sheila - I think I would go stir crazy! Is it paella or papaya?
-
I like snorkling at Sharks Cove on the North shore, but they say you can't even see it in the winter until March. Bummer!
-
When I googled I wasnt sure of the spelling and MR google asked me if I meant payaya so I used the word payaya.
Paella is the right word.
-
Thats the reason I go in May because I really love the north shore beaches
-
Power is still on here. Started as sleet and turned to freezing rain. Radar looks like it will end here soon. Hope Linda, Deb, and Sandy are doing okay. ((((((HUGS))))))

I thought so
I love to make this - I have a giant paella pan - perhaps 30" wide or more that sits across 2-3 burners. I can only make this for a big group. One time, I donated a paella party to an auction for the Boys and Girls Club and someone paid $3500 to have me cook that at my home. That was scary and intimidating but then I remembered that if I gave them lots of sangria first, they wouldn't care about the rest
It actually ended up being fun.
-
That's not my yard, just got it off of Google. I have a hell of lot more snow that that. It is sleeting and snowing right now. I was told not to bother going into work.
-
Oh Diane when We went to DR (Dominican R) every day at the lunch they had paella and I used to eat it at least 2 plates and the rest of the delicious food at the buffet. I love it and now I want it.
raj...Sorry but I have no idea how to make paella maybe Diane can help you
So nice to see you are back.
Hugs

I think I'd better vacate this thread for the day. Food talk is making me hungry.
-
I have power! I have been out shoveling and snow blowing. We got more snow over night and then around 9 this morning it turned to freezing rain. Everything is covered in ice! I hope we keep the power.
Please pass the paella!!
-
Help Youself. Im done with this topic
-
Okay Diane. We are a small group but love to eat.
When are we having this party?
-
I have to get busy,
See you later.........
♥
-
I can fly in and make this for you at your convenience
But, your convenience must be after your horrible winter!!!
There are hundreds of recipes and variations of paella. American paella combines various meats and fishes, where as I understand traditional Spanish paella does not. So I can send various bastardized American versions or I can send a true version - raj, which would you prefer?
-
Tomorrow DD is heading off to the AAD meeting to New Orleans.
-
American Academy of Dermatology, that dish Sheila looks like something that would be made down there.
I never tried mussels.
-
-
It does lok like jambalaya.
-
Going out to burn some calories trying to shovel whatever that crap is that's on my driveway. Trying to see the silver lining...
-
Just got back from a walk that was treacherous! It was fun though andmy sanity time with my friend. Soccer at 6 guitar lessons are cancelled. Everything is freezing up quickly.
I LOVE MUSSLES!!!
-
I have made mussels but I worry about where and when they've been harvested.
-
Seems to have stopped snowing/sleeting here, Going out soon to clean up more of that 4 letter word.
