    oh my !!! that is scary reading, but i am told that node negative is the most important thing, i had a very large tumour tn and basal like, according to that article size is very important, i hope they are wrong but thanks for posting it. i had a very aggressive invasive cancer over 8 cm but nodes were clear thank god and my treatment was based on that, 4* tc and avastin every three weeks for a yr.

    I hate when articles use the term "poor prognosis.". Yea, our prognosis isn't as good as ER/PR+, but it is still not a death sentence. With my size tumor and four nodes, based on old data, I still have a 70% chance of living my life cancer free. When I compare that to my friend's husband who is in treatment for Stage III lung cancer (15%), it puts it into perspective for me.



    What I take from this article is the importance of getting the chemotherapy right, as we only have one shot at this. I think neoadjuvant will really become standard of care, even for small tumors, and hopefully they will come up with a way to test tumors for chemo sensitivity. It seems that pCR, or as close to it as possible, really makes the difference.
