I am coming up on Taxol number 8 tomorrow and have hair growth, I completed 4 A/C prior. I have had more sensation issues in my fingertips than my feet only a few tingles right after treatment that subsided a day or so later. I do however feel like my fingertips are so silky soft. I was reading another thread and many others on Taxol have the same sensation. The onco says that it is typically in the feet...wonder what this finger thing is then?

I was exactly like your wife.  Right after my first taxol - instant neuropathy in all fingers and toes.  My onc switched me for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds to taxotere.  My neuropathy never worsened on the taxotere.  I am a year and a half out of chemo and my fingers are 98% but toes still numb,no pain just numb and yucky feeling.  I wish your wife the best.

    Hi Linda,

I appreciate your post. And thank you for the kind words. Sounds like your neuropathy will pass. I sure hope so. My wife still has bouts with the sore feet, but nothing unbearable. It will pass also, I'm sure. Take Care and and I'll keep you in my prayers. Dave

    Hi KC.

I really believe the regiment of Acetyl-L Carnitine helped reduce the tingling in the extremeties for my wife. The results of a nationwide ALC clinical trial are due to be out soon, and I would check it out. I'll bet the silky fingertips will eventually return to normal - Hope so. Take care.

I just had my first Taxol yesterday and everything went well.  Two of my friends have finished Taxotere and the neuropathy was not bad and it has ended for them.  They are doing very well.
