Music speaks to us--it often expresses things that we also feel, but don't always know how to put into words.  Happy, sad, excited, frustrated.  What songs have touched you, made you stop, made you think, kept you going, inspired you, etc. along your cancer journey?

Here are a few of mine:

Life Ain't Always Beautiful by Gary Allen

"Life ain't always beautiful.  Tears will fall sometimes.  Life ain't always beautiful, but it's a beautiful ride."

    Wonderful by Everclear

"I don't want to hear you say that I will understand some day"... "I just want my life to be the same, just like it used to be."

    Survivor by Destiny's Child

"I'm a survivor, I'm not gonna give up, I'm not gon' stop, I'm gonna work harder, I'm a survivor, I'm gonna make it, I will survive."

    Landslide by Fleetwood Mac

"Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?  Can I handle the seasons of my life?  Mmm.  Well I've been afraid of changing, ‘cause I built my life around you, but time makes you bolder, children get older, I'm getting older too."

Name by the Goo Goo Dolls

"Scars are souvenirs you never lose.  The past is never far."

    Lullaby by Shawn Mullin

"...from this stage I can see that she can't let go and she can't relax.  And just before she hangs her head to cry, I sing to her a lullaby.  I sing everything's gonna be all right rockabye, rockabye.  Everything's gonna be all right rockabye."

My favorite songs of all time:

Take it Easy by the eagles (we may lose or we may win but we will never be here again)

You Gotta Be by Des'ree (Listen as your day unfolds
    Challenge what the future holds
Try and keep your head up to the sky
Lovers, they may cause you tears
    Go ahead release your fears
    Stand up and be counted
    Don't be ashamed to cry
    You gotta be
You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold
You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard
You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm
    You gotta stay together
All I know, all I know, love will save the day )

I also love Landslide (dixie chicks)

"So What" by Pink. Really, anything by her - "Glitter in the Air" is another favorite.

"Extreme Ways" by Moby (think Bourne Identity theme song) - I used to run to it, and always felt invincible!

Honestly, any song I've ever really loved helped (still helps) me. I love blasting music when I'm in the car, alone, so I can sing along and pretend I'm a rock star. I feel unstoppable in those moments.

    Love the Fleetwood Mac reference-

    Boys of Fall.

For the many rainy, cold, hot, windy, days I took long rides to watch my grandsons play football for the past 27 years, and I still travel hours by car to go to where they play...........

    Wind Beneath my Wings......

No matter where my husband was in a room when that song came on he would find me, and we would dance to it...........He died 19 years ago, and each time the song comes on we always say "that's Poppie) telling us everything is ok.

Recently, in a documentary about the group Queen - Freddie Mercury singing "The Show Must Go On" when he was dying. Never touched a nerve when it was out about 20 yrs ago, but brought a lump to my throat the other day.

Also heard "At 17" the other day - very sad and wistful.

"Hallelujah" by Alexandra Burke/Leonard Cohen - always feel emotional  when I hear it.

"American Pie" Don Maclean - reminds me of my dad who died when I was young. First album I noticed him playing, with big painted thumb on front.

Daydream Believer - Monkees - purely feel-good song.

Lately - Stevie Wonder -  again v.sad - Mum and I both love it.

Baggy Trousers - Madness - me and brother's fave. as kids. Was played at his wedding party.

I'll stop now - I've got too many to list here without being terribly boring and self-indulgent!

Just realised these were general sort-of emotive songs for me, rather than specifically about my BC, sorry!  As usual, I don't read things properly.
