Pet Scan next week!! Cancer sucks!
Hi sisters,
Well sherri, and all, saw my rads onc today. Told her I was having joint pain, mostly right leg, and pretty consistent. She got on the phone with my chemo onc, they decided to do a pet/ct scan.
My last pet scan was at dx, about 15 months ago, so there giving me one next week.
The reason they chose this scan was because there is no 100% on any scan, so thought they would cover all bases. I hope no false positives light up! I'm scared, but at the same time I can't live in denial right? I mean I like it there, but the truth is , if it has spread I have to kick its ass again right? Please, I ask for your prayers , I am hoping it's the drugs and lack of estrogen I can't live in fear all the time. OH girls, it's just all about the kids, they need me. I have to do it, I don't want to know if it's bad news, but my friend in stage lV said to me today, do you want to live or do you want to die! Sounds harsh I know, but she's right, if its somthing, better to get it now then later, I hate cancer! None of us deserve this, yet look at us we do it everyday! Were strong
very strong, Sooooo, I will pop a xanax get the scan and pray for good results What else can I do right?
My rad onc did tell me she was not extremely concerned, so I will hold on to that! Any opinion
on the pet scan verses just a bone scan. I guess it would be better to look at the whole enchilada, better to know. I am gonna have a long weekend, and week!
Thanks for any advice, or prayers
Hugs and lots of them!!
Stephanie

Prayers and hugs for negative scans
-
I'll be praying for negative scans for you, too. I recently had my first scan since dx as well. It brought up a whole bunch of emotions that I thought were behind me, but I tried to just let it roll through and move past it. We've all had plenty of practice at that, right? I'll bet it's just the lack of estrogen. I've seen lots of ladies complain of joint pain in their legs from the treatment. I've had joint pain in my hips and knees for years, so I wouldn't know if it's anything new.....read somewhere it was probably from playing soccer for so many years. Anyway, I'll be waiting with you in spirit!

We'll hang out with you til you get your all clear results!
-
hang in there and as Bugs says...we will be here for you*
-
Stephanie, I wish you weren't having to deal with this. Aches and pains drive us all crazy with the "what if's". We are with you. Hugs!

Hi Stephanie, Just reading this and am praying for you. I Hope you get good news. I agree tank up on Xanax until you get the all clear.
It is very uncommon for mets to present with joint pain. My money is on the good ole chemo side effects.
We are with you.

Hi Ladie's,
Sherri, Thanks sweeti, I'm trying not to think much about it just trying to stay busy.
Saw my chemo onc on friday. We together decided to do a bone scan as opposed to a pet/ct.
I was feaking a little about the pet/ct. I have heard about false positives on thoughs, are bone scans the same when it comes to false positives? anyone know? Anyway, less radiation, and it's also a lot less expensive. I think part of me just wants to focus on the joint pain, and take it one step at a time. I really like to believe all the other organs are fine! No symptoms in other areas,
no scans in other areas. Just not ready to start lurking around the whole body thing yet. I guess i'm just being a big wimp, truth be told!! One step at a time, right?
Sooooooooo wed. 9:30 they give you a shot and then I guess you come back in three hours for the scan, Does anyone know what the shot does?
I just pray I get the results fast, so I can keep movin forward!
LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!
Thank you for your prayers, you are all in mine everyday!!!
Stephanie
p.s. thanks bugs , and all of you for hanging with me while I get through this, I'm so blessed to have you all!!

I had a bone scan and like Sherri said, it picks up everything. I was amazed at how much they could see and tell by the bone scan.
(((hugs)))) wanted you to know I'm thinking of you during the waiting game.
