Reiki and other treatments

Options

Hello,

I am taking an approach of chemo and alternative body and energy work. I found a non-profit who supports cancer treatment and helps the person heal themselves. The group of patients help support each other as well. I start chemo on 2/11/11 and am nervous.

I had a reiki session last week and felt great afterward. I had a lot of energy and mentally felt better. They practice meditation, acupressure, jin jitsu, feldenkrais, Kairos, acupuncture and about 8 others types of hands on treatment.

Anyone have any luck with these therapies?

Hi Trinity.  I did Reiki and found it very beneficial.  Not intruisive but very calming and healing.  I also practise Qi Gong Yoga which is fabulous for healing and getting over side effects.  There was actually a study done here in Australia by Oncologists stating that Qi Gong was found to be beneficial for people going through chemo and rads as it showed to reduce inflamation.  I can't find the study but it was in the paper.  And meditation I find also has endless benefits.
