Found a lump in the shower at 44, DX with IDC two weeks later, three days after my 45th birthday.
In the UK we don't get routine mammograms until we're 50 so it's a good job I'd lost about 40 lb in weight the year before or it might not have been found until it had got even worse (it was already in my lymph nodes).
-
horse-n-around: same as you. I too was 44 years old, and calcifications were found on routine mammogram.
-
Diagnosed at age 44 ~ just celebrated my 45th birthday last month.
-
48, I am now 48. Found on a mammogram.
-
I was 43 when I received the news. I had the mastectomy the week of my 44rh birthday. A bummer but I am alive! I just found out at about the same time as last year that the BC has metastisized to the brain and lungs. I'm a fighter and I'm not going down withought a big fight

I was 42. It was in the same spot as a previous cyst. Figured it was just another cyst, but it hurt.
Anyway, turned out to be the HER2 and grew fast. Had been getting mammos since I was 34 due to all the cysts that kept popping up.

I was 45, and am 45 now. I had breast pain. Then mammo, US and biopsy all on same day.Cancer confirmed 3 days later. Cancer tumor was directly where the pain was..

-
I was diagnosed when I was 48.
-
was diagnosed 2 months after I turned 47
-
Dx @ 48, still 48.
Had a lumpectomy in 2003, benign. Same breast 7 years later, felt a pin prick then felt the lump and it hurt. The tumor is located in a different quadrant. -
Diagnosed at 47, now 48... had a lumpectomy at 35 (benign but with ADH). Cancer in same breast, different quadrant also. I found both lumps and they didn't show on mammo. Had lumpectomy 12/8/10... now chemo and either rads or prophylactic BMX next... then tamoxifen.

I'm 76..........diagnosed on Feb. 15th.........Lumpectomy on March 14th...........1.1cm tumor, no node involvement.............2mm margins all around except 1 small area was 1.2 and 1.5......Rads ordered, completed 36 which included 8 boosts on June 14th.................now they are suggesting Femara.........have not begun yet...don't want to take it.
Oncotype score was 8.............sailed through Rads without incident.............I feel ancient compared to you ladies................your too young for this disease.........I have 3 daughters, and it would kill me if this happened to them.........good luck, and God bless.

I was diagnosed last month at the age of 53. It was found on a routine mammogram. I had surgery on May 16th and will begin radiation on Monday.
-
I was 59 when I was diagnosed after my annual mammogram. There were no symptoms. I had the mammogram on Jan. 3 thinking I would start the new year right and get the test out of the way. What a year it has been since then. Two surgeries and four TC treatments later, I am now starting radiation. No complaints from me. I have been blessed with great support from my DH and DD and many friends, good doctors, and caring nurses along the way.

39 - DX a few months ago ..

I am sad for all the young women struggling with BC. I am 71 and have already enjoyed a rich, full and healthy life but I am not ready to jump out of the pool. I am newly diagnosed and still am trying to wrap my mind around it. I pray to be able to continue working and get through whatever is ahead of me.

My fiancee Joanne was diagnosed in April this year at the young age of 26
it has turned our lives upside down. But i know we will beat this disease!
God bless all you brave women
-
Diagnosed at 28. Had a CT scan of the chest in Nov, 2010 that showed the tumor at 1.5cm, but they missed it. I ended up finding the lump myself in April when it was 2.3cm. Still bitter about them missing and delaying my diagnosis by 5 months!
-
I was diagnosed after Thanksgiving last year. I was/am 36.
-
So many young women...Like someone else said ,I feel ancient. I wqas diagnosed 3 weeks before my 67th birthday and on my 37th wedding anniversary. Boy, did that put a damper on our celebration!
