New skin cream!!

I have two radation treatments left and have completed 31 . I  was the 1st patient to trial a new cream called MIADERM.. and everyone at the cancer center is in awe of how well my skin looks. No burn at all and just a slight red/tan look to my skin if that.. I put it on immediately after the  treatment  in the dressing room( i think this is important) apply 4 times a day total  and not within 2 hours of my treatment. I used no soap/deodorant at all to my skin. Ha, I actually didn't smell!!  I'm taking Biotin a supplement for hair, skin and nails which may have helped??  I cross bridges when I get to them and I think that has really helped.. I have been blessed as I have felt no side effects from radiation!!

I also used Miaderm. I found that it was wonderful early on and could be applied generously even before putting on clothes for work. It is also very good from 2 weeks post radiation. However, (about) the last 1/4 of my treatments, my skin got very dry. At that point, Aquaphor in all it's annoying gloppyiness really did do miracles for improving the condition of my skin. I was also given Biafin for my boosts as the area receiving the brunt of the treatment was my nipple/areola. This helped make it possible for me to wear clothing to work! I am just over 3 weeks out. I am finishing up my Miaderm and my skin is doing very well. (I actually went through Aloe Vera Gel, Miaderm and Biafin. The only "potion" which was did not seem to do anything for my very fair 51 year chest area skin was the aloe vera.) Miaderm is a lovely, elegant cream with ingredients far less "scary" than the others. I wish I had been able to use it the whole 33 treatments.

I used Miaderm throughout radiation.  I also used Emu Oil on the recommendation of a friend who had radiation.   I applied Miaderm several times a day and the Emu Oil at night.  The combination worked extremely well.  My radiation Onc was delighted that I made it through my whole course using the bolus created to concentrate the rays on my skin (since my tumor was attached to the skin).
