Another Bill...

Options

Just have to vent. Just when we thought we had all bills for my bc paid, we just received one for $1972.00. With all the bills we paid I thought everything done. Now the start of the new year with new deductable and out of p[ocket max, along with a $10,000 college bill for daughter..I,m stressed, hubby blood pressure is up. I wish I could see into my future to see if going to med onco every 3 months with blood work done as well, then BS every 12 months. Is it necessary that often?? Sorry just whining..

Mari .. the first year after my dx of Stage I, I saw my doc every six months.  Since then it's only been once a year.  I've even quit seeing my surgeon.  My GP does all my breast exams now and schedules my mammos.  I see my GP every 3-6 months for general health reasons.

Since you're Stage I too, I don't know why you would have to have blood work done every 3 months, unless its for other health reasons.

You're not whining .. the costs add up quickly.

Maybe you can talk to your docs about scheduling the visits and blood draws further out.

Best of luck to you .. I completely understand how you feel.

    hugs,

    Bren

mari- After completing my reconstruction back in June I was just hit with a bill of $1600.00.  Since recon is supposed to be completely covered by insurance, and knowing I had already exceeded my out-of-pocket costs for that year, I decided to fight it.  It was frustrating and involved a lot of phone calls between the insurance company and the surgeon's office but I finally uncovered that the surgeon hadn't submitted their claims correctly.  The insurance company denied payment so the surgeon's office turned around and tried to get me to pay it.  So don't automatically pay it without researching it first.  Most insurance companies deny, deny, deny and most doctor's offices just keep sending out bills in hope you'll pay it.  Try to find out what they're saying wasn't covered and why it isn't covered.  Good luck!
