Head covering for the gym
Hi folks,
I am in the middle of chemo but feel well enough to return to the gym. I was wondering if you have any suggestions for what to wear in the gym when you are bald. I don't want to wear my wig but I don't seem to have the right hat/scarf idea when I expect to be sweating alot.
Sorry if you have read this one before because I posted it on my chemo thread but I think this fitness topic maybe more appropriate.
Thanks for your help.
Sharon

Hi Sharon,
One of the girls at my gym has this cute hat that has little pony tails out to the side it's kind of like a jaunty cap, very cute and another girl ties a scarf around her head so I think it's how you feel - don't forget after your work out, wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands

Sharon, I think any kind of head covering (scarf, cap etc) that's made of cotton would be the most comfortable.
Have a good time!

I suggest a buff. It looks sporty. www.buffwear.com

I wore a scarf/bandana tied in the back with a baseball cap over it. Scarf absorbed the sweat and felt comfortable as it didn't seem to attract any attention....If you feel good exercising keep it up as I found it definitely helped me mentally deal with everything.....

Thanks all. I will try a few combinations to see what works for me. I really appreciate your suggestions!

I bought a coolmax cap on Headcovers.com. I wore it walking everyday and to my spinning class. It stayed on well and it comes in several colors. Gina

Hi Sharon,
I'm wearing "BeauBeau" www.4women.com
Please check out the web site. They're the best!, very comfortable, stylish and the most important part for me is it's so secure! I'm not worry about it coming off at all!

I bought a bunch of these (cotton scarf ones):
http://www.fashionscarvesandshawls.com/headscarves.htmlWhat I like is they are reasonably priced, light weight fabric, pre-tied with elestic and I can just toss them in the washer/dryer with no issues.
I purchased the friends, faces, soul song, just words in several colors. I own 7 of them.

You might also like these but I haven't purchased any:

I also love the scarves from here: http://www.anokhiusa.com/all_scarves/index.html
I don't wear these for working out but do wear them otherwise. The hand wash well. I have never tossed them in the washer or dryer though. I would recommend the 30 x 30 square for working out. That's the size I wear anyway. -
i like wearing baseball caps. - if you're going to be doing a lot of bouncing one might not work.
