Age and recurrence?

Hello everyone

My mom dx with BC in November 2010.She is 53. As I read in the internet and different websites the risk of her recurrence is becoming lower as she gets older. Is this true? And also I read in some sisters comments that if a patient has ER- if her cancer don't come back in 5 years it won't but other sisters with ER+ have always the risk of recurrence which is getting lower after time passess. Is it true or not? I'm so worried for my mom. She means everything to me. I pray for her and all of you to get rid of this disease. Hugs to all of you

I dont think its getting older, i think its time cancer free after treatment. I also hear it is true that our ER + sisters have a higher risk than ER- after five years, but unfortunatly the risk is never completey gone.

Yeah and now we have to always worry about even one single cancer cell in our bodies !LOL!!

Dear Melania

I thought with this new test all the BC sisters can prevent themselves from recurring. Because before any other tumor is formed you can understand and use other treatments to avoid it. If it works in this way it will be a terrific progression in the cure of BC or at least avoiding the recurrence

The blood test trail is getting a blood test to see if your tumor is cancerous instead of having to go through a biopsy. Big news. Amazing if this is so!
