My Mom
I only posted here once about my mom and it was a question about if I should go see her now or wait. i so appreciate all of your answers because of it I did go and spend a glorious week with her. It is with great sadness that I have to say that she passed away last Friday morning. I would have regretted it for the rest of my life had I not come! and she was doing so good last Tuesday that I almost flew home this weekend, but something prompted me to wait. and it was Wednesday that she went straight downhill. She fought until the end and just kept telling us she was going to get out of bed and walk again so she could start chemo. My mom was the most amazing person I have ever known and gave of herself selflessly even when she was fighting the beast. there is a void here now that she is gone and i will miss her forever. But, i got to tell her how much i love and how very much I will miss her for the rest of my life. I love you mom! I pray she is up in heaven with my dad doing all the things she never got to do here on earth and living in the big beautiful mansion she so deserved.

Hi Lisa,
I lost my mom the day after Christmas to this awful disease and our stories seem similar. My mom fought for 11 years (6 with metastatic disease) and was still talking about going for chemotherapy in her final days. I still cannot believe she is gone and I don't know how to wrap my brain around it.
I hope our moms will meet in heaven and give each other a high five for a job well done!
One day at a time.....
Courtney
