Papaya & tea from Papaya leaves

Options

I'm not officially diagnosed.  Supposed to hear biopsy results tomorrow but was told this past Friday that the biopsy results were suspicious so....  I've been on the computer non stop researching and found very interesting information on papaya and tea from papaya leaves.  Does anyone have any other info on this?

Sorry about your suspicious findings, but hopefully it turns out to something benign.  What did you read about papaya?

Here's a good reputable link to look up various herbs, supplements, therapies, etc.

So I've been eating papaya like crazy for days.  Waiting on the leaves in order to make the tea....we had to order them.  Interesting enough, we have a 2 year old pet rat with a very large mammary tumor...about the size of a small lime.  The vet said that as long as she appeared fine and was eating/drinking and moving around her cage then there was nothing to do.  We could put her to sleep but the vet said it really wasnt bothering her other than to just be a nuisance.  I started feeding her papaya and the tumor is smaller.  I thought my mind was playing tricks on me so we've now measured it to be able to tell for sure.  I have not had one single drop of treatment yet on my 3cm tumor.  I meet with the oncologist today.  The plan is chemo first and then surgery.  I am going to consume as much papaya as I can and drink the tea.  Right before my chemo I am going to ask for an ultrasound to measure the size and just see if my tumor is smaller.  I'll post the results of my little experiment.  I am a firm believer that we have everything on this planet in natural form to cure all ailments.  I am also a firm believer that the pharmaceutical companies are a major problem.  Our health and treatment suffer because of big business.

I searched and searched but I could not find a mention of Papaya leaves for raising low platelet counts. If anyone is suffering from low platelets, do some research and look into it.

Here's a guide to helpful fruits and vegetables from 2009.

Greater vegetable and fruit intake is associated with a lower risk of breast cancer among Chinese women

     http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ijc.24358/full

A strong inverse association was found between total vegetable and total fruit consumption and breast cancer risk. Compared with the lowest quartile, the highest intake quartile showed a risk reduction of 72% for total vegetable and 47% for total fruit. An inverse association was also observed for dark green leafy vegetables, cruciferous vegetables, carrots and tomatoes, mushrooms and fungi, other vegetables, banana, watermelon/papaya/cantaloupe intake. There was a modest negative association between consumption of citrus fruits, grape/litchi/longan and risk of breast cancer. No significant association between allium vegetables, apple/pear/peach/plum and other fruits intake and breast cancer risk was found.

This article is interesting. I knew I shouldn't eat grapefruit because of the blood pressure meds. After seeing this article I googled it, and found several articles supporting this one. Ugh it is so hard to know what to eat.

Are you suppose to eat papaya straight, or cooked or make a tea with it?

Sharalou, bad memory, but i believe the amazing properties are to be found in the leaves which i was never able to find, but did find an extract in the form of a supplement which also contains fruit pulp

I know this is an older thread, but I took Papaya Leaf Extract during A/C Chemo because of low platelet counts (unbeknowns to my MO).  In one week my platelets raised over 200 points.  They were shocked!

Now that I am done with all treatments, I am going to use it to build immune system.

I coincidentally heard about papaya leaves from one of my mums friends. He is a terminal lung cancer patient who started blending papaya leaves and water and drinking that. Without any other "treatment" he went into remission and the doctors are shocked!

I've been reading about papaya leaves and cancer recently too. Looks like the leaves are much more potent than just eating the papaya fruit. It is supposed to taste horrible but it's worth it if it helps. Here's some instructions I found on how to make it superfoodprofiles.com/papaya-leaves-cancer-treatment with a medical study link as well. Think it's important not to take it at the same time as other medicines though. Hope this helps someone out there.

Be careful and make sure you're not eating the Maradol papayas that were recalled for listeria contamination. Also, MPR Daily(a medical newsletter for physicians that distills journal articles) reported numerous instances of cyanide poisoning from peach-pit or apricot-pit derived extracts sold as cancer preventatives or cures, with at least one death in an elderly man attempting to remain NED from his prostate cancer.
