Hi gang,  I'm in the middle of my first trans-continental trip!  I'm doing well with the compression sleeve, but I do have an important question.  Is it normal for my hand on the sleeve side to be a little more blood-engorged than the non-sleeve side?  I am wearing a gauntlet ending at the knuckles.  The sleeve isn't awful, but the gauntlet sure is.  I hate it, it really restricts movement.  But if it prevents the onset of LE (no symptoms, 6 nodes removed), great.

MHP--that's the problem with gauntlets--they can trap fluid in the fingers, where you DO NOT want it to go--please wiggle your fingers and this is where the issue of "poorly fitting compression causing LE" comes in--if compression traps fluid, it's not doing you any favors.

    How are you??

Update: I saw the LE physician today. He was great… but he is the president  and one of the founders of LANA so of course he knows what he's doing and going to be thorough. I hd not idea I was going to "The" guy till I googled him.

He said to try and wear the sleeve for 6 hours a day. If it helps great if not stop and of course stop if it becomes uncomfortable etc. He says it's mild (some upper arm pitting) and doesn't feel I need wrapping just some PT. My other arm has some cording so he is going to have the PT look at that too.

I have an appointment with the PT on Monday. I'm so glad I did this. Too bad it took so long to get an appointment with the physician. Things always happen to me on holidays  or when the docs take vacation. Frown
