Hi Friends,

I finished my treatment including lumpectomy/chemo/rads this past August for colloid mucinous invasive ductal carcinoma stage 2a.  I am 43.  Prior to treatment I banked embryos in hopes of having a baby.  I am now on tamoxifen which I would have to interupt for a time.  Has anyone ever done this?  I'm interested in your thoughts about it.  I have no other children.   Life just got in the way and i put it off until now.  My onc would like to see me have a surrogate, but can't really afford that.  I welcome any opinions or ideas about this.  Am I crazy to want to try this?

Hello! You are not crazy. I was trying to have a second when breast cancer stopped it. I was 44 at the time. I have since looked into surrogacy. There are some compassionate surrogates out there who don't charge tons. You would be surprised. Go to http://www.surromomsonline.com/

they have classifieds and a discussion board similar to this one. Its very interesting

I'm in the same boat, except that I'm 36 and haven't started my Tamox yet (almost done rads and have yet to decide on the Tamox as well).  Have an appointment with our fertility doctor next month to discuss options as my onc's are on the fence; they say it might help, it might hurt......they just don't know.  My fert doc deals with a lot of cancer patients so we're going to be looking for her guidance as well.  Would also love to know anyone's else's experience.  Good luck to you!   :)
