small knot on top of diep???? help?

Hi I just noticed 2 days ago a small nodule feeling knot under my skin when i move it around...in my right breast should i be worried?  what should i do? i am two and a half months out of diep revision nipple recon.... i had multifocal dcis in that breast.....  proph mast in the other.... who would i see?  ps?  onc?  gyn?  should i get a biopsy? 

   would an ultra sound know if it was bad?  can they really tell the difference weather it is necrosis, cyst, or cancer?  or is the needle biopsy the only true way to tell?  thankyou for your input!  Happy new year all of you wonderful brave women =)

    I would probably call my bs...but I really like her!  I think it can be common to develop a fat necrosis around the incision.  Hopefully someone will come along with experience with this.  Sorry you have something else to worry about!

    I've got several of those--hard, very smooth, round and oval ones, in the scar/incision line, and they're all stitch granulomas, a reaction to the material they use to make internal stitches.  I've also got larger, more irregulat but still smooth lumps that are scar tissue, also very common.  I didn't have fat necrosis, so I can't say anything about that possibilty.  Call your PS office--my PS and my BS can tell a stitch granuloma by feel, and the scar tissue as well by feel and location.  Ultrasound can tell if something is solid or hollow or fluid filled, but not if something solid is cancer or a stitch granuloma unless the stitch happens to show up.  Biopsy is the only way to tell for sure what something is, but other signs can give your doc a pretty good idea one way or the other.  For me, both the PS and BS are so sure it's stitch granulomas and scar tissue that I'm not worried, but I wouldn't hesitate to insist on a biopsy if I had any question in my mind.

    Hi! Thankyou for your help:)  its actually not at the incision line?  its about 2 inches to the right of my nipple?  so breast surgeon or ps?
