I wanted to see if anyone has had arm pit/node swelling rather than arm swelling as a sign of LE?  My BS can't get me in for a couple days, so I thought I would throw this out there to see if anyone else have had something simaliar?

    Lea,

I have swelling under my armpit area - about 2" below on my side.  I don't get traditional LE symptoms (affecting the arm), but rather I have issues on the side of my chest.  I think the call this truncal LE.  Good luck to you.

    lea, hello!

Just seems like it's always something, doesn't it?Frown Node swelling is not typical of lymphedema, but armpit swelling can be. Here's a page about truncal lymphedema, which can affect the breast, chest, side, back, shoulder, or armpit area:
    http://www.stepup-speakout.org/breast_chest_trunckal_lymphedema.htm

Swollen nodes might indicate any kind of infection-fighting going on in your body. It's good that you'll be seeing your doc soon so he can sort it all out for you. Do let us know what you discover.

    Gentle hugs,
    Binney

Thanks ladies! I just came back from seeing my PCP, he agreed it was enlarged lymph node, took blood but recommended I see my BS for an ultrasound.  I was kinda hoping he would give me more answers today, getting a little freaked out.  although my BC didn't spread to lymph nodes, i had thyroid cancer last year that did spread.  LE may be a better outcome than having cancer again.  ugh.....new year, new health issue.  hoping its nothing at all, will find out in 2 days.  appreciate your comments and well wishes.

Despite having a level 1 & 2 ALND, I have several palpable enlarged lymph nodes on the side of my trunk on the affected side.  The first is about 4" down from axilla.  One was biopsied and proved to be a hypertrophic, benign LN doing the work of its fallen 22 LN sisters. They get noticeably smaller when I do deep abdominal breathing.  Do yours change in size?

Lea, I know waiting just stinks.  I'll keep you in my thoughts that yours is like KS1, a benign event.
