Mary.....major CONGRATS on the half marathon.

I did a ski, and nearly froze my tail off.  Unfortunately, it's still there.

Agreed that something energizing is the way to kick off the New Year.

Congrats too on your time. - Claire

For those of you who facebook - look for BECAUSE MARY SAYS SO - it is my personal training but I post my daily exercise AND encourage you do the same.  It is a good way to be motivated for the new year!  I have a personal face book page too but for some reason it is hard to find - I can try to find you though if you post your name.

I also post the blogs that I write for the runners blog for the newspaper!

For those of you who dont facebook - I am not pushing it, just happens to be a medium that works for me!

Kerry....you hair looks great...saw the pics on fb.....my hair is getting ratty again....haven't had a trim since June (I think)...my gf cuts my hair so I need to see if she has time....if not, I will venture to Great Clips.....I just saw pictures from DD wedding and forgot how short I was wearing my hair....want to keep it closer to shoulder length, maybe a 'bob' but wonder what my hairdresser  (gf) will  think...I've started wearing hats all the time, "baseball" type hats, so that is why I am letting it grow....I think it looks a little better with a little hair showing below the hat....but when I take the hat off, my hair looks ratty!!!!

    Happy 2011 to all!!!

Mary - I've been dreaming about running for the past month and since it isn't snowing here in Alaska, I want to start this week.  My personal fb is Clarice in the network is Juneau Alaska.  You can' find me on Kerry's page.

Does anyone  use an iphone app to track your running?  I though it might help keep me "honest", although posting daily exercise would work as well.

Kerry - your hair looks great!  It gives me hope for my curly fro.

My hair has color on it as I type this.  Dull, ski-head hair.  The pits!!!

I have to straighten it out or it sticks straight up!!!  Color helps the texture on top of the obvious benefit.

I am understanding the value of hats.

    Kerry.....yours looks wonderful now.

My great news is that I think I will be fine for the Hog Loppet.  That is one kick-butt ski as 20 miles starting with a difficult downhill-ungroomed portion.  Plus at 6500-4000 feet, so getting enough oxygen a challenge for those of us who live at sea level.  I did quite a bit of skiing at about 4500 feet the past 16 days.  Plus I skied the past 3 of 4 days.

Glad not to have any exercise other than my weights/crunches and walk today.

I will need to get my distance up to about 16 miles, but that can wait until the days get longer and more sun.  Frostbite sucks. - Claire

Here you go, Sherri!  This is my "would have been my Christmas card if I sent Christmas cards this year" picture.   And FYI.....yes, I used a flat iron on my hair. :)

    Great pictures!

My hair has the tight curls.  I had to go to the hairdresser for a curly hair lesson and I am happy to report I love it.  If it loosens up or goes back to straight that'll be fine, but I'm loving the curls right now.  I recently added some caramel highlights, which I love!  I too get a lot of compliments on my hair.

Mary - Congrats on your run.

I can't seem to get my picture to load up, just the one of my girls which is my avatar.  One day.....

That would have made a great Christmas card!

You guys have me wondering if my gray would be chemo curly enough to go curly again.  I've been straightening my hair for years (ever since I got a lot of gray).  The gray just had a lot of wave and my regular was still curly, so I just looked a frizzy mess.  I've been straightening it since it grew back after chemo, and keeping it really short.  I'm wondering now if I could grow it long again.....
