Hi Everyone...........Happy New Year!

I just received my custom Juzo Expert glove and Dynamic sleeve to replace the set that was glass covered after my auto accident.  The glove seems perfect (hooray!) but the sleeve they made without the silicone border even though the order was copied from the previous one.  Does anyone have experience with this sleeve (formerly Varin) and how well (or not) it works without the silicone?  I won't be able to do anything with it until after the New Year, so guess I could try it for those days, but am just wondering.

Also noted something that I thought was curious about the glove - it seems a little lighter in weight and softer.  I guess materials could change slightly when manufactured, so not sure if this is just something that happens or was intentional?

Have you tried it on to see if it will stay up for you?

Sher, A fitter had "given" me a Juzo expert glove, a couple of years ago--I never really wore it--and recently, as I'm back in hand compression, trying to get rid of the swelling up by my knuckles after the fracture--I was fortunate to get a sample of the "same" Juzo glove--expert, size 1--I immediately noticed that the cuff is longer, and the fabric has less give. Unfortunately, I"m between a size 1 and 2 right now--

When I was at the NLN, I spent time at the Juzo table and their goal was to cut the cost on their gloves--which is why they're selling that new glove (wholesales at 45$) and reduced the price on the expert--you can find it on-line for around $120--used to be $160.

I tried the new glove and found the fingers were too short for me, and didn't like the fabric, but it's inexpensive (relatively) and gives us another option.

I have Juzo custom gloves, and these new gloves feel like the custom--more containment, and I do like the finger and cuff length--just with one of them fit me correctly in the hand. I showed them to my LE therapist and she felt either was okay at this point. I"m sticking to the custom, and I find medi 95 does a better job on my hand.

So, Juzo has definitely changed manufacturing on their gloves. I know Medi off the shelf is made in the US, while their custom is in Germany. I think all Juzo is made in Germany.

Re: the sleeve--you can try it, but if it creeps down at all, I'd recommend you get what you ordered--silicone band.

Kira, I tried the new Juzo Basic and didn't like the fabric either, nor did the off the shelf sizing work for my hand.  Also tried Medi 95 which I loved, but again would need custom fit.  Besides KT gloves, a custom Juzo Expert glove is the only one I've worn so far and it seems to work very well for me.  My therapist orders them and always specifies in addition to actual measurements "glove with full length fingers - open tips" to make sure the fingers are long enough.  I just washed and dryed my new glove and it still is noticeably softer than my previous glove which I think will be a good thing since the old one always felt slightly stiff.

I've read so much about how sleeves without a silicone band creep or roll down, that I wasn't sure if I even wanted to bother trying the new one. The Dynamic is a bit heavier, stiffer fabric than most other circular knit sleeves I've seen, so it's possible, I guess, that it might stay in place.  My thought was that after repeated washings and wearings it would be more prone to rolling than it was when new.   I see my therapist on Tuesday, so will try it between now and then and see how it goes.

Sher, I went through 5 custom Juzo gloves because the fingers were too short--they even called the rep in!

It's time for new ones, and I'll tell them to say "full length fingers--open tip"--that fitter has quit, so I'm going to try a new crew.

Yeah, it doesn't sound like the sleeve is worth even trying on.

So they sent you a new custom glove? Great!

Sher - I used to wear a custom Juzo Healastic sleeve without the silicon dots on top.  Healastic is a heavy flat knit fabric and I asked them to remove the silicon band.  Juzo makes a glue ("adhesive lotion") in a roll-on dispener which works well.  The sleeve stayed up pretty well on it's own - but better (longer) with the glue.  For me, the glue was more comfortable than the silicon dot band.

I use gaunlets not gloves and I have found that no two EVER seem to fit the same way -- despite being the same model, the same size, even ordered at the same time, etc.  I find Medi to be somewhat more reliable than Juzo and Jobst.  That's my expeirence.

    Happy New Year everyone!

Edited to add:  PS - Early on, I thad both a Juzo Dream Sleeve and a Juzo Varinsoft Sleeve -- I used to wear them inside out to avoid the silicon dots. They stayed up fine but I never wore them for more than an hour or two.

Well, I tried on the new sleeve and it wasn't worth it!  Maybe I'm so used to the extra thickness at the top from the silicone band, that it just felt weird plus it kind of rolled down and cut in.  So, now have to send the thing back and wait another 2+ weeks!  Maybe my therapist can call Juzo and convince them to get started on a replacement before they get the return?  Hmmm, or will they need to add the silicone to the sleeve I have instead of making a whole new one?

Kira, they didn't replace it without first getting my money order!  LOL  But my insurance company is going to cover 80% of the cost.........would have been 100% if Juzo would have billed them directly.  I thought that rather unlikely since my therapist does the ordering and I just include a money order and I wanted it to process as quickly as possible.
