I thought I'd post some good in the hopes to brighten things up around here.

You know, it's the little things in this life that can make or break our day.  As some of you know, my week has been a bit stressful.  Last week my washing machine was belching smoke and screaching.  Then, a week ago today, my Mom was carted by ambulance to the local hospital with very high blood sugars (been diabetic for 40 years).  She was in keto acidocis (sp) which caused damage to her heart and caused a heart attack. This caused them to transfer her down to a hospital down in the city.

Well, after 2 days in ICU  and 2 days in a normal room..she is home and gaining strength.  Yeah, Mommy!

Today, a friend from church came over to look at my washing machine.   He tightened the belt and ..lo and behold I am doing laundry!

Who's next?

Today was sent to ER with possible clot and low and behold....NO CLOT.  I can stay on my chemo schedule.  My DS will complete his volunteer hours required for senior graduation this week and DH is home for the week no travel so I have someone else to do the laundry....and yes he will do the laundry and well:0)

Great day today. Went to our Kingdom Hall meeting, came home and made thee best lunch!  I really wanted to go on a long run today but decided not to only b/c I ran 6 miles yesterday. Tomorrow I'll do another 6 miles. The weather has been decent lately (no rain) so I have to get in as many miles as I can before the rain on Wed.  Hubby goes back to work tomorrow after a week off. Not happy about that. Kids are off for another week. Yay!

    Happy Day!

My 15 year old daughter made this picture and framed it for me from the day I got the Komen award this year - my favorite christmas gift!

For the newbies - I am about 2 1/2 years out - 2 years out of chemo and I love my hair

We live in the northeast and are snowed in.  LOVING IT!  Played games by the fire last night with husband, and daughters-ages 13, 11 and 9.  It doesn't get much better than that.

Everyminute-same with me on the hair-I love mine too and really need to post a new picture.  Mine looks like yours.

Started homeschooling my elementary age kids this school year.  At service on Christmas Eve met four other homeschooling parents (far further along in the process than myself).  One of the ladies has a son with dysgraphia and some very encouraging words for me in my struggle with this and my son (thus the homeschooling).  Sometimes a few good words and someone who has already been there is the best thing.

Reminds me of you ladies and how every day all of your little comments have made such a huge difference to me.

    Thank You,

    Susan

I'm approaching three years of being cancer-free. I'm so sure that I'm going to live forever that, today, my boyfriend and I adopted two adorable, 5-month-old kitty brothers (to add to the three cats we already have. LOL!). They're ginger tabbies. My last ginger tabby, Toby, died at age 17 a week after I was diagnosed in February 2008. That was rough.

    Mary....love the picture too.

Mine is that I did an eleven-mile trek on my x-country skis on Christmas Eve and couldn't believe how easy it was.  True, conditions were ideal, but I am now more fit than I ever was.  Or at least in terms of what I can do cardio-wise.

I am waiting on the hair report.  Loving HATS right now.  Suspect that will be next year's good news.  It is growing in just fine, but I want a chin-length bob.  The only part that is chin length is the stuff on the back of my neck.  At least it keeps things warm when I am skiing.

Celtic Spirit.....I love ginger tabbies.  Enjoy your new kitties. - Claire

I had voluteered to drive my son 250 miles home after Christmas before the NE blizzard was in the weather report. I knew we'd be OK. We were traveling north and west, and the storm was coming up from the south and moving east. But everyone in my family was worried that we'd get caught in the worst of it, and I got no fewer than three phone calls the morning we were leaving (Sunday) that urged me to postpone the trip.

As we set off, there were just a few light flurries starting down which were soon left behind. By the time we got to my son's home in central NY, the sun was shining. We never got hit with the blizzard up there.

The next day, my daughter and I started back to our home. The highway was clear and the sun was out, but it was windy and cold. When we were almost home, I could see just how deep the snow was around the area, and I started to worry about how we would get into our driveway. When we got there, I found my brothers had shoveled and plowed it all out!

Well, my only child came home from college.  We have had fun this holiday, especially when she asked if her boyfriend could come up to visit.  I was a bit concerned at first, but was able to sit back and truly enjoy the experience as she cleaned, painted, rearranged and painted.  It was truly worth having her friend visit!

OHh, to have my driveway shoveled when I get home!  What a blessing, Nancy!  Every once in awhile my neighbor will snow blow my driveway after a big storm and it's such an "ohhh THANK YOU" feeling.  :)
