Chemo options for 2nd time around
6 yrs ago I had AC and Taxotere. This time had an oncotype test and scored 55 which makes me a good chemo candidate (oh joy). Onc is deciding on my new treatment. Gemzar, Abraxane or maybe Ixempra. What chemo did your onc us the second time around?
Thanks,
Anni

I had a/c and taxotere, 6 years ago, for breast ca in the left breast. Had an mri in July and low and behold 2 5mm areas in right, ca. Had mastectomy, lymph nodes clear, was just going to be on tamoxifen, but then oncologist decided to due the Oncotype, and one came back at 27. I am on my last round (on Tuesday), of C/ and Taxotere. 4 rounds of it.

Hi, I'm fighting my 2nd ILC. The first time was in 06 and my Oncotypedx was 9. I think that test is a waste of time. I had a 96% of no recurrence in 10 years and here I am with 6 new tumors all in the same area as the first time. I'm getting chemo first and then surgery. Also Tamoxifen didn't stop it either. I took it faithfully since 07. I don't think anyone including the doctors have a clue when it comes to predicting the future of BREAST CANCER.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all of your responses. I appreciate all the info.
I will probably find out what is recommended. I think they may do a combo of Gemzar and Abraxane. I think I won't be getting Ixempra. I think it has the same allergy issue that I had with Taxol. That might not be accurate but I'm likely to find out tomorrow.
Best to everyone.
Annie
