Thinking Out Loud.....

Dag Nabit Coonie, we want to hear what you are "Thinging Out Loud", LOL. Good to hear from you.
-
My SIL is doing well this morning. She called her DH and bitched at how much she stinks she has only had sponge baths since Tuesday. There is nothing like a good hot shower or bath. In her case I don't know if she can have one yet.
-
Oh thanks Sistahs!
Ok........right now I'm "thinking out loud"
How many sweet potatoes makes 2 cups mashed??
-
Just wanted to step in and say Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. My Christmas Wish for all of us here on breastcancer.org is a lifetime of great health and beautiful memories with those we love in our lives.
My family only grows each Christmas because it includes all of my beautiful sisters here on breastcancer.org!
Happy New Year Sisters!
Terry
-
coonie~it depends on the size of the potato, probably 3 large.
-
Merry Christmas Eve everyone!
Glad to hear your SIL is doing so well. Hope she can have a nice shower or bath asap. You never want a shower so much as when you can't have one.
Christmas prep frezy has begun. DS is doing a good job cleaning the back room. Vacuuming and cleaning all the dust I can never get at through all his legos, etc. Grandma has said she is going to kick their butts playing Wii bowling tomorrow - so he had to clean that room - LOL. DH is at the store buying all the food - I hope they have what we need - waiting 'til the last minute and all. And I'm trying to do all the cleaning I've been neglecting while working in the you-know-where on the you-know-what.
DD did a nice job putting the decorations on the tree last night. Yup - took that long to finish decorating it. We are the lazy family.
Hope all your preparations turn out beautifully and take only half as long as you think they will.

Thanks Deb...I've cooked 4 large, so hope that will do. I'll see soon
-
My DH loves sweet potatoes and my mother never made them. I'm not a good cook so I don't think to make them. I did try at Thanksgiving, though. They were okay. If you have extra, you can send them my way. My DH will love them!
-
chris - you know you can bake them just like any potato? Then you don't have to worry about what kind of cook you are. Sometimes I slice them like fries, drizzle some oil, salt and pepper and bake them....they never get crispy but they sure get yummy.
My DH has decided this year that he will be a dessert chef. Here's to a very messy kitchen!
-
Make sure he knows he has to clean up...
-
~Terry~
-
My DH doesn't do anything in the kitchen, we have a dishwasher and still he puts dirty dishes in the sink. I have mentioned it once already I guess I going to have to:
-
He is checking his list, Merry Christmas Eve!!
-
Deb - that is quite the glass
I hope it is not really yours. My DH never used to do anything in the kitchen, this is recent based on the fact that we sold our fishing cabin and he is just a bit bored. That seems to have been all talk as nothing has occurred and he and his dad just left to see True Grit.
The neighborhood drunks had another big party last night, screaming and yelling and fighting in the street until 3 a.m. I went down in my robe and yelled across but they couldn't hear me. Calling the cops is a waste of time because they only show up if there is nothing else going on. I just left them a not so merry voicemail telling them I am sick of it blah blah blah....like they care. They are early 60's with 6 adult children up to age 40 - they all party outside in the garage for some reason and then they beat the crap out of each other in the street. Awesome. The last time I spoke to them they said they "are Irish, what do I expect". I said "so am I, and I have never used that as an excuse".
Ok, spose I should nap so that I can be pleasant and joyful and merry. I am actually quite grateful to be moving forward and to have made all of my new friends here.
Merrry Merry Christmas!
-
Coonie!! One of my all time favorites! Merry Christmas!
Off to my sister for Christmas Eve dinner. Wishing you all a wonderful night!
-
I see you were all busy this afternoon.
I'm finally finished cooking and all the dishes are washed. Taking a break before shower.
I was missing my DD a lot today. then all good things started to happen.....
Natalie's friend stopped by to cheer me up and we talked. They are good friends or sisters since 7th grade.
Another friend of hers stopped by and dropped me a pecan pie ( she is a pastry chef)
Then I opened the door I saw a package on the door mat with a card. I opened the card it was from mt neighbor she is a young girl mid 20's.
A very heartfelt card saying she knitted a scarf for me. I didn't open it yet.
I don't know it was like that's all I needed today little attention from the young generation.
I really feel good now. Except tired, faucet is drying up finally.
I come here and see all your posts I'm very content now.
HUGS To All.
Coonie we will be looking for you

DH and I are staying home this Christmas Eve, usually I hold a big to do here but I just did not feel like it this year. DD made it safely to the UK so we will celebrate Christmas January 3rd probably. Tomorrow we will pick up my father and have dinner over my Aunt & Uncles house.
-
Heading out soon for Christmas Eve Service and Dinner with my parents.
Went shooting and nobody needed to be shot. Out of thirteen people there, I came in fifth, and first of the two women there! Guess they might think twice about messin' with me anymore. They invited DH's Ex's hubby and it was anounced that he is a part of the family. They are such creeps!!!!
I came home and finished some linzer cookies, made a pie shell for the chocolate cream pie and made a pumpkin pie. Almost finished with the stuffing for the goose. Less to think about tomorrow.
-
Meece - Awesome that you came in 5th/1st! They'd better think twice about messin' with you. Sorry the crap continued for you with the Ex.
Sheila - so glad the faucet is drying up. And that all those young women were so thoughtful just when you needed it. So sweet that your neighbor knitted you a scarf. You can wear it when you go for your walks in the cold weather and be warmed by the love that went into making it for you.
I'm beat and still have so much to do. At least DH is wrapping the kids' gifts for me so that's one thing I don't have to do. He's good at gift wrapping. I joke that he got a merit badge in gift wrapping.
Hope everyone's evenings are merry!
-
chris...I didnt realize until I saw your post that you were also on Pauldingmom's thread.
I also joined her thread on July 2009. 4 years later from my original July chemo.
-
I remember you from that thread. I didn't post much. Others know more than I do. And when I post, I feel as though someone else always posts with better info, so I try to keep my mouth shut (or fingers quiet.) I should post less of my ramblings here as well. I don't have much to contribute, but appreciate all that you ladies post.
