Hate to brag...the temps is in the lower 70s today in Bermuda
Even though it is overcast and windy.
-
you're too cool, Diva, thanks for sharing.....~suzie
-
That's it...I am moving further south. Maybe Costa Rica or Panama.
-
Diva, will you pick me up at the nearest airport??? I'm in east-central Alabama, and the low forecast for tonight is ... wait for it... FIFTEEN degrees. Fortunately, we don't see hyphens in front of our temperatures here. As one of our local weather guys said last night, "Any temperature that starts with a "one" is bad."
navygirl, be careful what you wish for! I've only been to MD (Baltimore) once, but they had an ice storm followed by several inches of snow the day I arrived and nothing was moving.

Oh, sorry: To everybody --- THAT SUX!!!
-
wow! the 30 degrees we have here is freezing us all out.. we're just not used to it, i guess. ireally don't know how you guys do it.. i hurt so much more with cold weather thinking WARM thought of all of you. nite, ladies, its my bedtime..

Global warming, my ass!
-
18 degrees here, but just a dusting of snow, very unlike my Mom in Syracuse, NY, over 5 FEET of snow already. I do NOT miss the lake effect snows, but feel badly my Mom is still stuck in it. BUT that said, we all know what to do to drive in it, so luckily she's a good driver! We had such a lovely November, no complaints with the bitter cold/winds now (snow is less likely here in the East of NY, we get ice/winds/freezing rain--SO much more 'FUN' to drive in...can you read: sarcasm??? lol). Best to everyone suffering the snows and cold...but heck, it IS winter~! (not officially, but AL-most). Not complaining! ~juli
-
Hi JO: Your husband and my BF have something in common! My bf is an independent contractor now for the USPS (hauls mail for them, but is self-employed)...but he used to drive tractor trailer/tandems to NY CITY!!! :O So yeah, that was horrible, I didn't know him then. I bet your husband is very familiar with our NYS Thruway road! At least they keep that pretty snow/ice free though. We have LOTS in common don't we????? :O
Yeah, Flori-duh is not much better this year, the jet stream dipping WAY down South....not the best place to get warmth right now I reckon. ENJOY where ya can, dearie! ~juli
-
im in south fla., and although its really cold now ( for here) we know we'll get a break in a few days.. im pretty housebound now, and with the cold, im going out only forDRS appts.. gotta keep my priorities straight... lol i do go out 1x a wk to see my beloved.. he's my 3yr old GS would freeze my butt off to see him anyday!! BARBE... is it your A** thats' to blame for the global warming?? 3jays
-
LOL my northern friends. It will be 76 of Friday and 75 on Saturday. Whew. Hope I make it until then.
-
Okay I bragged too early...all that weather coming of the USA has made our temps drop
It has dropped to the 60s and will drop to the 5os tonight with plenty of rain/wind. We don't get snow here, but because we are surrounded by water, it is very damp when it is cold.
Otter...sure come on down!!
I'll be off to some much colder weather on Friday...heading to Toronto, Canada for Christmas and New Year. Must make sure I have the heavy coats!!
-
Navygirl, caught your post, I'm sending a PM
-
Diva, I'm on my way...I hope you have a cot, or a couch, or a clear spot on the floor for me to lay my head
No bitch today - even though I got 2 more nose bleeds (humidifier doesn't work right away apparently) and a hell-a-tious charlie horse in my supposed DIEP actually Tram stomach
BUT...FINALS ARE OVER and dare I say it, I think I did really well!
Gotta go for now...glad to see people coming around again...it was lonely at the bar all by myself :P
-
navygirl, so glad for you that the finals are over! Your nose bleeds concern me...are you on some medicine that could cause them, it may be a good idea to let your doc know.
Diva, so sorry about the cooler temps, do plan ahead and have lots of warm clothes for Canada.
Barbara, please soak in those warm temps and if all possible try to send them my way...we were 7 degrees this a.m., it got up to 16, but at least the winds did settle down a little.
3jays, do stay in as much as you can, don't take any chances.
barbe, I totally agree...global warming my a$$.
-
Suzie...I'm not on anything at the moment that would cause this. However, I have been having what I thought were sinus headaches, ear aches, tooth aches, etc. on and off for over a month. The ear aches and sinus headaches (face and behind my eye really) get better but never really go away. I thought it was just allergies, but now with the nose bleeds I think it's time to go see the doctor. The nosebleeds continue both at night and during the day so I will call in the morning to try and get into to see an ENT. All I can say is, WTF??? It really is always something, isn't it???
Oh well, we got snow today so I'm happy
3jays...how are you doing? I hope your cold is better! Has anyone heard from Connie lately? I haven't seen her post in a while and she's been on my mind. I sure hope her, her daughter, her dh and the grandbaby are all doing ok!
I've gotta run, get your Friday on people
-
Navygirl, I am so glad you are going to see an ENT for all that you have been experiencing for much too long. When you make the appt. let them know the severe symptoms you are having and hopefully you can get an appt. on Friday. Do let us know the outcome...(hugs)...suzie

I've had enough of this cold weather. It's 26 in NY right now (feels like 19 according to weather.com). Let's all go to a warm, sunny island somewhere :-)

ell, this is gonna be one of those days for sure... DH started out to work; came back in to tell me the H2o heater burst. luckily, its in a room off the patio, so water just flooded my garden. its 6 am, and already a problem.. AND Ihavent been to bed yet... he just came in to tell me his cars' amking a "banging" noise, so he's taking mine. for sure, ill be in the house today!! need to sleep, anyway lol..might as well laugh now.. probably will be crying later. i seem to be back on the cryin "jags" again. i think the naturaL als are working. the rx ones got me to the phyche ward... please pray i'll hold it together to keep the reoccurences gone. i get crazy thinking there won't be anything this crazy body of mine won't reject... i really am getting worn out, and more than a little depressed. looks like some of the xmas $$ is going elsewhere.. but, i'll wait n see. we've got a good mechanic, who doesn't hose us.. keep your fingers crossed. the water heater is under contract, so that's just a time concern... $$ is gone, and im still feeling like crap.. "C" is really a Biatch!!!!

Oh, 3jays, what awful things to be confronted with so early in the morning! So glad the water heater is under contract....get the guy out there to fix it now! For the car, I hope it is an easy fix and costs little to nothing. Can't really think what would cause a car to bang...so please let me know what it is.
My fingers are crossed....suzie

I think Diva mentioned Bermuda upthread somewhere. I am nearly there, mentally at least....
I saw a health news article recently that said, if you imagine yourself eating something delicious that you truly love, it will help to control your appetite and you won't eat as much real food. Maybe if we all sit here imagining that we're lounging with Diva on a beach in Bermuda, we'll feel warm and cozy.
So sorry to hear about all the suckiness. This time of year can be stressful enough without all the add-ons.

3jays..."a good mechanic who doesn't hose us"...lmao, I'm sure you didn't mean that to be funny...but I pictured a him aiming a radiator hose at you when I read it...I hope your water heater is fixed and your car was something simple.
I must say, I finally learned my lesson about "Dr. Google" - my co-worker and I were talking about my ENT appt. because she had sinus surgery last year and given what's going on thinks I may well have a sinus polyp. Thinking this had to be something relatively small and easy to fix, I looked it up. OMG, I never in my wildest dreams could have thought up some of the stuff you can find on you tube about it. All I'm gonna say is "inverted papilloma". Go ahead, google it. I dare you
Friday night, and not a darn thing to do but look forward to crawling into bed!
Hugs my friends...
-
ugh! I had to check it out- I took the dare. NO THANK YOU!
-
Alyad, isn't that the most disgusting thing in the world? I never imagined someone could be walking around with something like in their sinuses! Please Jesus, let it be a sinus infection.
-
ok; ive had lottsa ent stuff...look out.. im googling.. but first: thank you ladies, for your gentle listening.. "hose us" is common Boston slang i grew up with.. im still laughing about the visual you pointed out!! i love you guys so much, in the middle of suckiness, we still can laugh. car is going in monday.. mech. says its a nothing.. OR a biggie.. my choice is a nothing.. ans, they'll replace the H2O heater tues. either way, DH is on vacation, so we'll deal with it, and only need one car right now. pray we don't kill each other in the meantime.. ok, on to my googling.. 3jays

A big that sucks to all who need it!
My b*tch of the day; losing Tonya aka 9rugrats. This disease just cannot be trusted. May her husband step in to give her kids the love and the support they need. ((((Tonya & Family)))

I am back on September 30th reading Connie's posts and feelin' for her.
That's too much on one person! Too much too much!
Early September I had a hysterectomy, followed by dehydration, followed by blood infusions. I was so weak that I could hardly prepare a meal. Grilled cheese sandwich, anyone? Money sucks. Co-payments suck! Deductibles suck, too! Who said that there is no inflation increase so I don't get no SSDI increase? Who is spreading those lies? I've got way less money this year than I had last year - and honey, it still wasn't that much. I'm single. How are you families making it?
Calling the hospital financial office and getting 15% off if I pay in 20 days? Priceless. Hey, it helps!
Prayers and hugs. I was down and out for September and October. Just now getting on my feet.
