My guess is God is happy that we celebrate the birht of Christ no matter when we do it!  My thought is this thread was bound to cause some drama... When I firs saw it I knew it would offend people b-c the thread was to discuss why not to celebrate Chrismas when to a lot of us Christmas is huge. If we started a thread about Anyone NOT celebrate Hannika and then discuss all the reasons why we shouldn't surely people would be offended.

There are millions of ways to God-and God fave us free will to choose.

Wow. I'm shocked! I was hearing all sorts of amazing tales of crops and feasts and suns solstices that made a lot of sense on the history of our peoples. We weren't talking about presents and religions and baking and Santa Clause. We know the reason for the season ain't gift giving!

Settle down. There'll be plenty of time to argue at Easter time, which as a good Christian (raised Catholic) that I am, is the most important time of the year!

Who cares when/if Jesus was born on a certain date! And no, I wouldn't expect snow in the desert so that's no way to tell the time of year. The fact that so many people get together is enough of a beautiful thing that it doesn't matter if they get together for Christmas or just because they have a day off!

imc1970,  I am really sorry that your are offended by anything I said.  I honestly did NOT call you any names.  I responded to you commenting that Christmas offends God.  And I don't believe that.  Christmas is a wonderful time of the year that is celebrated around the world with many different types of festivities.  I am Christian, and I too follow the Bible and it's principles.  But I am tolerant enough to know that it shouldn't be used to correct other people's religous choices in celebrating festivals. Also, I find the watchtower literature that was offered by some as being very critical to those who have come here to share why they enjoy the Season.
