No Bama, I think Seaside is leading the pack. She has almost A YEAR!!!! WOO HOO! We have to have a party for her!!! Some semi-naked servers of the male persuasion, some lovely canapes and exotic libations. So when shall we heap our server/food/libations on you Seaside? Shall we party all week leading up to the DAY???
-
LOL Barbara!!!
I'm ALWAYS up for a good party!! Been enjoying the photos in your avatar and feeling just a PINCH jealous that I wasn't invited to your retreat, lol! Looks like you all had a GREAT time!
Bama may have been talking about those who have quit more recently. If not, I'd have to say O2B gets the crown!!! She's going on her 2nd year!!!!
To everyone: 1 day, 1 week, 1 year or 1 decade... TOGETHER, we CAN all do this!!!
-
dsgirl,
Staying busy is GOOD!! Especially in the beginning! Use that inhaler until you are to the point where you no longer need it! I am a big advocate of, you do what you have to do to get through the beginning stages of quitting and then deal with the rest of it later!!
I do have to agree that it really is nice being in your own home for Christmas. Waaaaay back in the day, when my husband I were dating and even when we were first married, we used to alternate Christmas between the two families. Once we had children, we opted to stay at home (although anyone who wanted to could join us).
We are to the point now where we have a college age daughter and a son in high school. We now celebrate with my side of the family a couple of weeks early and then my husband's parents come here for Christmas. Gets a bit crazy but, I do enjoy it.
Hope all continues to go well for you!!
-
O2B, you are coming up on TWO YEARS!!!! WOW!! So we will hep the nekkid servers/food and drink upon you! When is quit day?
-
I keep telling DH that I want to go to the Bahama's and have cabana boys with palm fronds fanning me while being served lovely adult beverages in hollowed out pineapples....nekkid servers are more then welcome to bring eatables.
My two year quitaversary will be May 6th 2011! Since I am planning a Vegas trip with some girlfriends for my 40th B-day next year, I am not sure if I will be able to swing the Bahamas as well but DH said he would happy to set up the backyard with a hammock and play the part of a cabana boy...not sure about serving nekkid, that may be TMI for the neighbors...
-
OK O2B,
Getting your party planned for May 6th!!
I've got the drinks picked out....

Found just the place....
Now off to interview the cabana boys!!
Jennifer
-
Wow! Are we all invited? How about some nice massage therapists too?
Jan
-
Jan,
The more the merrier!!!!
Massages sound wonderful! Especially with my achey Tamoxifen joints!
Sounds like I may need some help with all the interviewing
. Who'd like to help?Jennifer
-
Wow my quitaversary is gonna be so much fun!!!!!

Jan508 - of course you are invited, the more the merrier....
-
Count me in! I know it's tough interviewing these cabana boys!!! Now we have to look for masseurs (sp?) too!
This may take awhile

Jan
-
We may have to switch locations to here! Plenty of room for all!
Who knew there were such things as beachfront massage cabanas!
A little warmer here today but, I sure wish I was there!!
-
Hmmm...beachfront massage cabanas! Is the bar close by?
This looks like 'just the place'.
A little warmer here too but very windy...I'd prefer to be at the cabana too.
Jan
-
Hmmmm, I don't know. Enough of those drinks and I'd be wanting to smoke!
-
Huuummmmm.... I have had several get togethers where adult beverages flowed and I was able to manage the cravings just fine. it helps that AZ has a no smoking law that does not allow smoking in any establishment or within 20 feet of an entrance or exit

I think you will do just fine as well Bama - of course you would have all of us 'quiters' with you to help you through any cravings. I don't know about you but I would be a nice puddle of goo after a few beverages and a massage, smoking would be the last thing on my mind...
Seaside - I am loving the visuals!!!
-
Bama,
Customs will confiscate any cigarettes coming on to "our" island to avoid any temptation! BUT we will be having SO much fun that WE JUST WON'T CARE!!
O2B,
I have been really enjoying my vicarious trip to places FAR warmer than where I am now! Look forward to the "results" of the interviews.! Here's to celebrating EVERYONE'S milestones!
-
I am already searching out the appropriate semi-nekkid servers, libations and food. And my DH's band can provide entertainment. I can post links to YouTube videos I do of them. They are fun to dance to.
May 6 it's a PARTY!!
-
Jan,
I'm "sure" the bar is just around the bend and out of the photo. BUT we won't care! We'll just send the cabana boys to grab us a drink! lol!
-
Barbara,
Was hoping that you would stop by!! Glad to hear that your DH's band can provide our entertainment!! I did check out the link you provided a while back. He is quite good!!!
Guess we haven't given a thought to the food! Need help on that! Also, need some ideas on the semi-nekkid cabana boys... lol!!!!!!!!!
-
How's this for the butlers?
-
Whoo Hoo!!!! Works for me!!!!!
Jan
-
How about these libations?
-
oooooh! Barbara I love the top two they look so festive and fun!!
-
Yes, I loved the whole coconut and the pineapple, two of my favorite things.
-
I might just have to quit again, so I can join in the fun. Everything (butlers and libations) all look so luscious!!! (only kidding--about the quitting again, since I'm drooling over the butlers!)
-
Oh WOW!!
Great job Barbara on finding our butlers!!! Definitely easy on the eyes!! I think we may NEED to be fanned with palm fronds and not just due to the Tamoxifen hot-flashes...lol!
The drinks look great too! Still need to come up with some food.
I can tell you all are a fun bunch based on the fact that, of the 4 things we needed to find, (place, food, waiters and drinks) guess which TWO we have put the most thought into!!!

VJ, you are welcome to attend as well. We didn't say how long it had to have been since you quit!!
-
sweetaerobabe,
Thinking of you and hoping that your chemo was uneventful and that any side effects have been few!
Hope you are doing well!
-
Dutchy,
Still thinking of you and hoping that things have worked out OK for your son! I know how hard it is when something happens to our children.
Sending you a hug. Wish I could be there in person to give it to you!
Jennifer
-
No this party is open for all the gals who have quit or who are trying. Woo Hoo! We have 5 months to plan!
-
O2B,
I had to laugh.
When I first read your post, you said that you "loved the top two, they look so festive and fun" I thought, "what's she talking about? They're standing side-by-side", thinking you were refering to the butlers and not the drinks!! LOL
Guess you can tell which picture impressed me the most!
Oh Lordy, I need to pull my mind out of the gutter!
-
SS, believe me when I found our butlers, my mind was in the gutter while looking. I have my calendar set to remind me to remind everyone about the PARTY. So I will be stockpiling my food, places to have it, waiters, butlers, pool boys and of course, libations with umbrellas in them.
