Arm exercises

How do you do arm exercises safely with implants? I had my exchange in September, and my nips reconstructed in November. The right breast feels like it is spasming around sometimes. I am terrified to try yoga with the downward dog stuff , and I don't know how I can get my arms back in shape without weights.

All I know is my physcal therapist told me not to do any any exercises for my chest muscles because of the expanders. Best to check with your PS.

I do have some tension chords my physcial therapist gave me for my arms. She said if I want to do weights to go slowly. Start with 3 or 5lbs… but that was for me.

Crazy - when I started LE therapy, one of my warm ups was on a hand bike - basically a stationary bike for arms, where you hang on to the pedals with your hands.  I really liked it, because it was an arm and upper body exercise you could do that wasn't weights.  I wanted one for home use, and ended up buying one of those little mini-foot bikes that can also be placed on a table and used with your arms.  I really like it - it's not the sturdiest piece of equipment in the world, but it works fine for me.  You can even adjust the tension on it. I'm on post-surgical restrictions now (revision from DIEP) but will start using it again once I'm off restrictions.  I got mine on overstock.com, but you could probably google it and find other places to get it.   http://www.overstock.com/Sports-Toys/Sunny-Mini-Cycle-Arm-and-Leg-Exercise-Machine/2497744/product.html

And as Lago says, absolutely check with your ps before doing any exercises.
