Well the time has arrived, my diag mammo is tomorrow morning--I realize this is just the first step--but oh I am so very nervous! The redness is still the same as it has been and the one area of peau d orange type skin on the areola is still the same--it hasn't spread anymore in all this time--not really sure why I'm posting other than I am just beyond stressed :)

I wish you the best with your Mammo.  They will know more most likely right after.  Let us know how everything went.  Best Wishes to you.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes...I made it thru the mammogram just fine--was very, very nervous but the tech was awesome and made me feel better. Good news is the mammogram was fine--which is huge relief because I have a huge risk (grandmother, mother and aunt mothers sister) Aside from my skin issues, I was also very worried I might have a lump hiding in there. Radiologist spoke with me afterwards and gave me a very good going over--she feels the redness I have is definately a skin issue as I have had it for over 2 years without any changes (except for me getting antsy about it)--she agreed like some of you said if it was IBC, I would be dead by now.  My left breast also has alot of these tiny red blood vessels as well, just not as many as my right.  I have absolutely no swelling, pain or skin thickening. Advised me to come back if I have any swelling, the redness gets worse, etc.  Have a follow up in a few weeks with my primary, who is going to refer me to a dermatologist  Again, you ladies have been a godsend to me in these stressful times and I plan to check in from time to time and will keep each and everyone of you in my prayers....keep fighting the fight!
