The posts that follow are rants.  Although rants are mixed throughout various threads, this thread is dedicated to those who need to rant about any proposed treatment, any treatment or procedure endured, or any side effect experienced.  Additionally, rants about how doctors or care givers are driving us nuts could also be shared. 

Further warning! 

If you are newly diagnosed or uncomfortable reading rants of this nature, you might want to skip this thread.

Disclaimer! 

From my limited experience with treatments (only a bit over a year) I have discovered that there are so many different experiences that one may NEVER have any of the problems that the poster is ranting about.

Recommendations!

I'd like to suggest that one avoids offering advice in this thread.  Supportive comments would be nice - such as, that SUCKS or ((( YOU ))), etc ... but I'd like to propose that if you want to pass on some advice to the poster do it via a PM.  

Of course, I can not legislate or enforce my suggestions.  Just please consider this thread a place to vent away.

Summation!

The title of this thread is a  "tip of my hat" to Pompeed and I asked her permission to use this thread title. 

Finally, I want to say I sincerely wish each and every person the very best as they take a "ride on the breast cancer roller coaster".  It can be a bitch but it can also open your eyes and heart to what is really most important in life.

    Whoever invented stitches which are supposed to dissolve screwed up.  A pox on his house!!

    At least half of them don't.  And they itch like crazy and get caught up in underwear.

    And what's with the skin that's left behind after a mastectomy which looks like the outside of an orange with little pits in it?

    A gig "that sucks" to all that need it.  It seems like the IOS (incidence of suckage) is going up at the moment on this site.  hugs to all.

    OMG I was just thinking the same thing today!!!  I ended up loosing my DIEP flap and had to had it removed so I am left with a horrible mess but yeah, what IS up with the orange pit stuff??

    Glad it was not just me, but sucks that someone else has it too!

    Nancy, try using emu oil. I am blond/blue and did not burn at all using it 3-4 times a day.

    I am personally sick of hearing from women who are not being given all of their options for treatment and reconstruction, which I think is absolutely criminal!    However, I jumped in here to mention that the orange peel effect is from swelling.

    I'm pretty pissed off about the damn swelling.  Which seems to be taking up residence for the long haul and causes more discomfort than the rest of the mess.

    Pompeed, just wait 'til the swelling goes down and you look like a skeleton.  All of my ribs are poking out on the right side...I think my surgeon went a little nuts over there.  So, I'm like Frankenstein monster with the big red scars but I'm skinny like Olive Oil.  What the heck????  Oh, and I have flaming red hair that sticks out everywhere, so nekkid I look like a troll baby. (remember those things that came on the ends of pencils and you twirled them around to make their hair stand out?  That's me.)  Tongue out

    Boy do I remember those troll babies, I must have had most of the collection. My hair is doing the same thing, but wish it was red, it's white gag. I had the lumpectomy from hell not the BS's fault, but just the same it sure is ugly looking so sure can relate. Anyone know if insurance will cover fixing up the mess when it's completely healed?

    Kira1234 & hdangelbaby  - I've been told that insurance will cover fixing things for as long as necessary.  Of course, you will want to have your doc get preaproval to make sure.
