Replacement for Darvocet???

I need some suggestions from you all on a pain med comparable to darvocet that doesn't contain codiene, other than tramadol. For a host of reasons I can't use either of those. I've been on Darvocet for 6 years until I had my ankle replacement surgery earlier this year. Now that I'm not on it for the ankle, I am painfully aware of how much it helped with other joint pain issues that are only made worse by the AI's. I go see my onc. in January to discuss where we go from here and I'd really like to have some alternatives to vicoden or more powerful drugs, to discuss when I go. I'm puzzled that they'll ply us with all kinds of drugs to combat all kinds of side effects...but when it comes to the joint pain, the only answer they had that they seemed willing to offer was the darvocet. There has to be something out there that's similar to it, I just can't seem to find it using Dr. Google. Your input is greatly appreciated...

for my joint pain, I found I cannot live without prescription dosage anti inflammatories--NSAIDs.  I have been on them for years and every time I have to stop taking them preop, I really know how much I miss them.  I change about every year.

There are many different ones, some less irritating to the stomach, but I do take Pepsid ('scrip) to prevent it.  There are many stomach meds that are helpful.

I will miss my Darvocet. I have a bottle of Tramadol, but haven't needed to try it yet. I did take it once years ago for a headache, and other than a little dizziness initially, it did fine.

    But i loved my Darvocet...

There's no other "comparable" to my knowledge.
