Dec 8th NYC lecture: origins of lymphedema
My husband said he heard an advertisement for a lymphedema lecture while listening to NPR a few days ago. When I recovered from my amazement, I checked MSKCC's website, and sure enough, there is a lecture listed. I'm thinking about going. Is anyone else interested? If so, maybe we could meet up.

I am planning on being there, KS1.
Have you been to any of the MSKCC LE support group meetings before? I have been to several and have found them to be very disappointing insofar as the information provided, but I will be there.

I've never been to a MSKCC LE support group. (I've never met anyone with LE. Heck, even in the waiting room of LE Tx offices, I have never even seen anyone who was wearing a sleeve or had an arm wrapped or obvious arm swelling.) This talk sounds like it is going to be research oriented, so maybe it will be interesting. I've read abstracts for some of his papers, and it is interesting stuff -KS1

Looks like s/he does a lot of research into lymphedema and LE after surgery and into reconstructive surgery. I just did a PubMed search for all research articles authored or co-autored by Dr. Babak Mehrara. Here is what turned up for just 2010 alone:
