Faith don't hold it up just use them for the next scarf.................
-
This is exactly what I needed today - thank you! I spoke yesterday about my breast cancer to a small group for a local hospital promo and it all came back to me (good and bad). So hard to discuss this with those who don't understand. I love your scarf and all that it has become. Women are so very awesome!

Oh red2323..... I'm so glad that our little continuing story brought you some encouragement.
HollyAnn/Lucy, the post office FINALLY delivered your ribbons, I think they kept them for a while because they were admiring your handiwork. Thank you!!
And drum roll please.
Here's a picture of the picture that Footie sent, wearing her ribbon enfused boa..... I know that you're going to love her hat. I promise to figure out how to scan the original print at some point & will come back and edit the image..... but I didn't want anyone to be kept wondering another minute.
Here's Footie:

OK. My DH was finally able to have the pic of Footie scanned..... it's not nearly as bright & glossy as the original, but at least now you can see the whole picture.
I think you can see how delighted Footie is to be wrapped in the hugs & well wishes of so many.

Theres our girl!

Thanks for sharing. I forget which thread someone was making prayer shawls, but not just for BC ladies.

Here's a 'scarf' update.
The happy music lady was diagnosed with DCIS a second time on 1/4/10.
She went searching for her original scarf and wrapped herself in all those messages of encouragement all over again.
She read those prayers and blessings and wishes upon hearing the diagnosis. She read those words as she scheduled her surgery. She named this newest chapter: "Cancer, The Sequel" and that made her laugh.
Then she flew to Louisiana for one last professional presentation before her BMX and there were amazing teachers in attendance, who wrote amazing new ribbons..... hundreds more ribbons!!!
Seriously. This ribbon puts: Saint(s) & Faith on the same ribbon. Angels in our midst.
This one was the one that brought me the biggest smile:
Ever onward.

Well ribbon writers. It's time to bring this story back to the top of the pile, for several reasons.
1.) We are about ready to "move" and I am in the process of packing up my studio space and have uncovered my cache of 'naked pink scarves.'
2.) I have found a willing volunteer to take over this mission -- while supplies last. Our dear BCO friend and crafter, Spar, is willing to take this upbeat effort off of my hands.
She intends to involve members of her church in the making of ribbons.
So............................
It's time for ribbon writers, old and brand new to get some pink ribbon and some permanent markers & write out some upbeat encouragement that can be tied to the boa scarves.
We don't have a gazillion, but it's high time to make up the ones that are possible & get them around the necks of folks who can appreciate the encouragement.

This is a PERFECT project for someone who doesn't knit or crochet..... also PERFECT for the short-attention span segment of our sorority. Please consider contributing.

Faith, glad to see the scarf is back......Where are you moving to?.....I have been gone way too long.....Please Pm me your new addy if you will.....I am making out my Christmas cards this week.....Love you, sister......
