I had a double mastectomy in September and I am not able to have reconstructive surgery. I don't have a prosthesis yet as I am still in radiation and don't want to deal with any skin chaffing.  I may get something in an A cup eventually.  I have large pectoral muscles so I am not entirely flat chested.  Does anyone have any suggestions for clothing styles that would look good now?  I am practical and like things tailored and plain.

    We are in the exact same boat, I just bought some cardigans, some with bulky lapels and then just a tank underneath. I never really wore jackets before but I think I am going to try that. Not sure what I will do come summer time, but living in Canada that is going to be awhile and I hope to be able to wear a prosthesis after all my treatment is finished. I see that you are in the midst of rads right now, I am still waiting for my doctors to decide when I will get my rads because after surgery the nodes were all positive so they are thinking more chemo...just wish they would hurry up and decide as I thought I would be done rads by Christmas. Hope all is well with you.

    When I did rads, I wore soft Jockey camisoles everyday under whatever I wore. A tailored buttoned collared shirt would work well. The cotton type fabrics tend to 'stand away' from the body and give a little volume there. You might want to check out the Prosetheses forum. There are a couple of threads that deal with this. Wardrobe pics for Boobless Days may have some good ideas that work for you. This year there are a lot of drapey cardigans out too. I got one at gap that I love that is pretty tailored (not ruffled) that is soft and looks nice for work or around the house. At work the temperature is never right (too hot or cold) so I wrap a 'pashmina' - a scarf they sell on the street in NYC - around whatever I am wearing. I've been doing this for years and after my bmx next week, I think I'll be wearing them a lot when I return to work. They add draping in the front, come in lots of colors and look professional. Lots of women wear them at my job.

    I have been wearing really soft tanks under my clothes during rads too.  I just went out and bought some scarves that tie in the front. I also found some info on different ways to tie scarves on the Coldwater Creek website. I noticed in the Christmas ads that scarves and bulky cardigans are really in this year.  I have to wear something with my company's logo on it to work so I bought a fleece vest and had it embroidered.  That will give me some bulk over my usual work shirts.  I also found more info and photos on the other threads on here just as you all suggested.  Thanks so much.
