Meece, I too extend congratulations from India on your 7th cancervarsary. you are 2 years ahead of me. I wish you all the best and many happy returns of the day !
-
Meece- YAY! That is great for you and also for all of us to hear. Enjoy your weekend!
-
Have a good celebration Meece--you've reason for it.
-
I have never been able to give blood in my life. Just too short and not up to the weight for it. DP does all the blood giving in the family! He has "plenty" of weight to spare!
-
Sheila - just want to say I so appreciate your wonderful photos!
Meese - a big congrats on your 7th!!!! Way to go!
jp3 - I'm supposed to start Arimidex and know it's hard on bones and worried because my Dexa put me in osteoporosis category and onc has me on mega Vit D for 3 months. I'm hoping that helps calcium absorption. I have not heard of Forteo injections - what is that? I've read a lot of women get zometa or reclast infusions to reverse bone loss and that particular drug (common to both brands) also reduces bc recurrence risk. That's on my list to ask at my next visit.
-
Yippeee! Waaaaawhoooo! I am doing the happy dance with you Meece! Congrats on 7 years!
-
CONGRATULATIONS TO MY SISTER MEECE.♥
MANY MANY MORE......................♥

Jp3,
You are only days out of surgery. My BS did not let me do Yoga for 1 month after surgery. I did do some gentle stretches and could not wait to get back to Yoga. I've done TaiChi in the past and my Yoga teacher incorporates some TaiChi in her classes. I had pain and numbness under my arm after my surgery for a few weeks. Both are gradually getting better. I am going through Radiation now. Just finished #13 of 30. No problems so far. Good Luck and feel free to ask any questions.
-
It's called "Cording" it looks like a cord when you lift your arm. Mine started near my armpit and I could see some of it and it stopped around my wrist area. Ask you BS she can give you some exercise or PT will work also. Mine resolved itself after a while. I think you Ta iChi & Yoga with the stretching should resolve it.
-
When the surgeon removes lymph nodes from the axilla, the lymphatic system in your underarm is disrupted, leaving you at risk for lymphedema. Scarred lymphatic vessels which are thin, cord-like structures that look a bit like violin strings may also appear underneath the skin of your arm. Cording usually develops within a few weeks after surgery. These structures, although alarming, are essentially harmless and will disappear or actually "snap" on their own as you do your stretching exercises.
-
Meece - Congratulations! What a wonderful thing!
-
Hi deborye, What is your source for info on "cording"? I've even thought about requesting that the surgeon cut the darn thing. If it will eventually diappear or snap so be it. Yeah!
-
I GOOGLE a lot.

-
Congrats Meece!!! That is wonderful and great to hear.

Char 2010,
Good advice. I'm new, have a stage 1 dx for now but may change after next operation more margins and nodes. I just was dx 3 weeks ago and already had the test. I now see the oncolgist next week before my next opertation. Haven't decided on the operation but at least I'll know about chemo.
P.S Char2010, My husband and I once had a friend name Char, we liked her so much we gave our # 2 daughter the middle name of Char (hugs).

Welcome to our new friends.
Thank you, everyone. I spent the entire day on my feet baking cookies, with and without DIL and FDIL. I sat down about 1 hour from 7:00 am until 11:00 pm. My back is tired, but I was there to experience it. That's something to celebrate!!! I have so enjoyed all of the innovative happy dances and messages. You ladies are very special.
-
MEECE: CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a wonderful thing to celebrate. HUGS!!

Meece-Congrats on 7 years-Hooray!!
Rajkumari-Congrats to you as well on reaching 5 years!
suz3-Welcome, and sorry for the circumstances which bring you to us. Waiting for that first oncologist appointment felt like a long time to me, but I felt like I had all the tools to make treatment decisions after I saw her. (She had the Oncotype results.) I hope you will find the same thing.
-
suz3 - Glad to have you. These ladies are fantastic and so full of support. Ask anything you like to or just share info.
