I'm new to this forum.  I have stage IV metastized breast cancer in my spine.  It is her2 positive and I have been receiving herceptin for 70 weeks.  It seems it has stopped working and today I have my first Taxol treatment.  Does anyone else have a similar profile?

I saw your post in another thread so I wanted to search you out and welcome you to the forum.  I have one bone met.  I was diagnosed last January and have had 2 lumpectomies, 6 rounds of FAC chemo. 35 radiation treatments (including 30 on my spine), I am also on tamoxifen and yesterday had my first zometa treatment.  I live in Vegas but sought out a second opinion at MD Anderson in Houston who are treating me with "curative intenet".  It has been a royal pain to travel so much, especially during radiation when I had to live in Houston for 8 weeks, but hopefully it will all be worth it.

Since you are Stage IV you might want to redirect your post in the Stage IV section of the forum where you may get a lot more responses since it is quite active over there.  In case you don't know you can only post 5 times a day until you have 25 posts.  This was frustrating to me at first so I wanted to point it out to you.

I am so sorry that you have a reason to join the forum but am glad that you found us.

Please feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

Hi and I am so sorry you have had to join the SS Mets Cruise Line - Lorraine is correct...come join us on the stage iv forum - we applaud your successes, hold your cyber hand, try to point you in the right direction for information and even get a few giggles now and then - we learned how to laugh at ourselves.

I have bone mets only to the spine and hormonally positive thus treated with Aredia and Faslodex at the moment.  I will have new results tomorrow and can't wait to see what they want to do with me next...hopefully, I end up stable and continue on the same plan.

Hugs to you and see over on the 'boat'
