Happy Anniversary tomorrow Rita......Thank you so much for this wonderful place to call home.

-
Marina....not sure I can help you, but if you are in your Picasa album.....rt. click on what you want to drop in here....you then get a drop down which asks about sizes.....choose your size and then upload to the web. Ask to view it there.....and from there.....click on it and hit copy....then minimize back to the blog.....hit the letter V on your computer....and the picture should copy itself right into your post.
Hugs, jackie

Thanks Jackie.. I think this time it worked.. I've been wanting to learn to do this forever!!
-
OMG, she is precious!
Yes, congrats Rita on your anniversary. I love this thread. And to think that I just found it quite accidentally one day when I was feeling pretty low after a chemo treatment. What a blessing. Thanks so much!
-
MakMak-Gabby is so cute! She looks just like you!
Joan- I know what you mean about friends being amazed that you would be the one to be Dx with BC. When I was at work one day, awaiting BX results, a well meaning co-worker reassured me that everything would be OK. She stated that I was way too healthy to have something bad like CANCER. She knew that I worked out 4 or 5 times a week and she saw what I ate for lunch/snacks. Well, the(not very funny) joke was on both of us. And then to top it off, I told her if my BX came back malignant I would be quitting my job, she didn't believe me. Well, I did quit 8 days after DX. No regrets.

Have a great night everybody

Rita-Congrats on your Cancerversary. Way to go. And have you noticed, oh honorable founder, that we are almost at 500 pages???!!! What an accomplishment for all of the women that have ever posted on this thread.

Just a quick drive bye tonight to say congrats and thank you to Rita for starting this thread in her darkest hour. I echo Jackie in that this is home to all who come here looking for support. We all have traveled this journey at different times, but we all have come out of this journey stronger and wiser with the support and friendship we have here. I feel very privileged to know all of you here and I too thank you for all your support, love and friendship.
Jackie.. your quotes have been wonderful this week. thank you. how was your check up?
Laura...sorry to hear about your brother's stolen truck. I hope they do find who did this. I think dh needs to become a chef. His yummy dishes are making me hungry. lol
Makmak... OMG she is a cutie!!!!! Just like mom. thank for sharing the pic with us.
Zap /Lago....international cooking is so much fun. I think we should do a potluck of your favorite dish. How fun would that be. Just thinking about it is making me hungry for sushi. Just might have to go to my fave sushi tomorrow for take out. lol
Joan/Navymom.. good for you both to continue to work out during your pre and post treatments. I went to the health club after my rad treatments and worked out with a trainer 3 x wk. It saved my sanity as well as to keep me in shape.
Elf... went shoe shopping and got some sparkle shoes. Oh I love them. Wearing them for the holidays. Shoes are a girls best friend!!
Well I am off to bed now. Sweet dreams and sleep tight. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Rita: Congratulations on Ned's anniversary!!!
Marina OMG so cuuuuute.
NavyMom Yes I too know what you mean about being perfectly healthy. I hardly ever even got a cold and if one more doctor told me how "small & thin" I was I was going to scream. (Trust me I'm a healthy weight for my age, height and frame.)
BJ love the pot luck idea. My problem would be deciding what to make. I also make great chicken chili, Asian coleslaw and of course my oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate chip cookies (sometimes I put banana in there too).
Jackie I haven't yet told you I too really enjoy your quotes.
Elf I must admit I love boots. Usually ankle and some calf height kind. Of course one thing chemo seems to be giving me is blisters on the tips of my toes. I seem to get 1 or 2 every treatment during the 1st week. By the time I'm done I think I will have had one on every toe.

Morning! A bit wet out so I guess it rained during the night....already 45 on the old deck so that sounds good. They did say below freezing for a high on Thursday tho. If it doesn't rain I am going to put out the decorations while the ground is still soft. First I have to fix my waving Santa...his little arm goes only so far and then jerks back and he slaps himself. It's kinda funny actually....but I don't want to spook any kids.
Rita....Thank you so much for this thread. Just thanks. Don't know how else to say it. A lonely, scared woman one night couldn't sleep so she sat down at her computer and started this thread....and changed the lives of hundreds (yep...I bet hundreds have come here) of women. You changed lives, Rita....you made a difference in our lives. Gave us a safe home. Thank you for reaching out for comfort that early morning.....what you gave us is immeasurable.
Marina....Gabby is so cute! How did the photographer get her to smile like that!
BJ....sparkle shoes, huh? We don't do any fancy parties so I don't know where I would wear them but I think I will take myself off to DSW later this week and look for some sparkle flats! All girls need some sparkle, right?
Elf....sounds like your lunch with DH was fun!
Susan/Iago....you know, its not fair to talk about all that food this early! I have to wait one hour after my synthroid to eat and I am now starving! Soup sounds good tho....I might have to branch out from all the Italian food I've been making lately....
Jackie....never apologize for speaking your thoughts. I knew what you were commenting on. I too have NO problem with the screenings, was just wondering which one you girls would choose. Since I fly so seldom, I will take the scanner always. If I flew regularly and having had rads I would probably choose the pat down and just dress accordingly. Do I like either choice? No. But do I want to go BOOM! while going on vacation? Ahhhhh....NO I DO NOT!!!!! So...I will pick one and go on my way.
Hope all you going thru treatment are having a good day....just remember that it will get better....we promise! Hugs to all....have a wonderful, restful, joyful Sunday!
Off to fix my poor little Santa....

This Is My Prayer Give me a pulsing heart to feel
The need of other hearts, and kneel
With them when lonely shadows steal
Across the way.Give me a vibrant hand and strong
To right a weaker brother's wrong,
Or smooth some tangled place along
His onward way.Give me a spirit swift to greet,
And lay life's incense at the feet
Of every soul I chance to meet
Upon the way.Give me to feel with kindness rare,
Give me to act with courage fair,
Give me to bless. This is my prayer
Along the way.-Unknown -
Lago...Love it!

Hi Ladies, wow, way to many posts to absorb for me today. Had my first Taxol on Wednesday. Hyper until Friday am. which will serve me well for thanksgiving. lol. But than yesterday I slept the entire day and dealt with weakness and shooting pains up and down my legs.
Having Thanksgiving here. Than planning to take my son to Trans Siberean Orchastra next Friday, fingers crossed.
Cant remember everything but Gabby's picture is awesome, I hate theives as well, cant wait for holiday party. Onward

Sorry about those dreaded marks.....every now and again I get "caught" with some that just won't go away.
OMG --- usually I don't think it comes in so vivid --- but I got such a STRONG picture in my head of Wendy's Santa --- and I was not ho-ho-hoeing.....I was laughing so hard I nearly dis-lodged myself from my chair.
Rita.....it IS just what Wendy and others have said....but I think also it IS that you gave us a place to share everything --- to cure that lonely no one else understands feeling, and a place to laugh about so many things. To learn that we really could laugh again, live again, and there is always someone here to help us face any dread, any fear, and any fun. In this way we always travel together.
The only word I am awaiting Bj is my tumor markers. That test would take till Friday night......Dr. says....she will call on Monday if need be --- otherwise I am to assume all is fine. Last tm was 10. I didn't know that until I saw her this time. They don't usually get excited until markers go into the 30's....so...... I have already decided that I don't care to have a repeat performance on this so that is the picture I keep carrying around in my head --- someone that is well and happy. That so far seems to be working......maybe I should try to see big lottery winnings.....especially since I'm laid off....it's great timing for it.
Joan....glad that you found this thread too. I had a terrible time trying to re-find it at first, but put it in my favorites......so I'd be lost if I had to go in the regular way.
Marina....am I glad you got the picture in. I tried hitting the http you left but being so un-sophisticated I still could not find the picture --- didn't know if you'd be able to do it from what I told you or not. I am not sure ( though I get the pics in ) that I do it totally right. My friend told me that with Picasa I could make albums and name them......but I don't/can't seem to figure that one. Picasa took every picture I ever put in here.....and it seems to be all one big album ---- and any time I want to use one.....I do just what I told you. I'm probably filling up all my free space here but until I do.....at least I can share things. Now to get some pictures of my little house in the woods --- oops, wrong time of year.
I hope you all have a totally fantastic day -- my heart is full of Rita and the great friends she helped find. Blessings to all.
Hugs, Jackie
-
Lago --- that was great. Took me back to my young beginning years and love of this wonderful musical group. Forever was before me then --- at 17 years of age with a couple of broken hearts under my belt already. Beatles were the 'epitome' of cool then. How fantastic.....enjoy Rita.

Lago...I am in love with oatmeal chocolate chip cookies... Just send them my way. I have no problem eating them. lol
Wendy..yes I saw some sparkle flats...very comfy. You know we all need those sparkles.lol
Onward...hope you are feeling better before the holiday. Rest and be healthy
Jackie....this is one of my favorite quotes. So true!!
Well I am off to have a spa day today with dd. I look forward to spending time with dd as she is so busy working...and the chef is coming home today for dinner. Told me he wants Maggiano's tonight. Well I guess I got out of cooking today. lol
Hope everyone has a wonderful fun filled Sunday. Remember to be healthy...be happy and enjoy life. Please remember to RSVP for the holiday get together. I just need a head count. Hope to see you all there.

Gabs is adorable!

OOOOOHHHHHHH, Gabby is a doll!
Christmas shopping with DH is pretty awful!

-
"Christmas shopping with DH is pretty awful!"
Ha, and how long have you been married and just discovered this? ;-) Men have an expiration time when shopping unless it's for them…and it's something they want.
-
Zap....shopping with men in general is not fun. Esp when it comes to clothes. I spend more time pick things out and putting them together. Do you think they have garanimals for men. lol
-
I do all of dh's shopping! He hates to shop so he just hands over his debit card. I love it!
-
Rita...Congrad's as I know how impt this time is to reflect. It is two years for me today and have so much to be grateful on. As I sat in church, i learn that a friend of mine just got diagnosed with acute leukemia and two years from my diagnosis, just does something to you that is beyond overwhelming!!!
ALL of you, each of you goin to TX, having surgery or whereever you are in this BC journey, just know there is an end to this time and it will be a better one in many ways that cannot be put in words. Just keep goin and each day is one more to check off and get to your destination. Don;t give up the fight and together we are fighting it!
Be well and sweet dreams. Such a day to reflect!
Donna

Donna -- congratulations on two years for you. It is wonderful to be on this side of al you had to go through. I hope in ten years and really much, much longer than that....you are looking back very healthy marveling at all the progress --- a flowing spirit and easy mind.
Your weakness has become your strength.
Hugs, Jackie

Before I go tonight.....there is just one thing I'd like to say:

Where have you been hiding Pat/Smerf. Been missing you.

God Evening~! it's almost midnight and kids went to bed and dh is working so I got the computer all by myself.. ^^
Rita- Happy Canerversary~!!! I cna't say enough... how much I love this thread and no place is like home, this is my home and our the other home... Thanks~~
Donna- Happy Cancerversary for you too.. 2years~!!! You are a warrior for sure.. I am happy to hear that your nipple recon went well and you named them what??? hahaha... I love it~!!
Rene- That's what I do sometimes, Korean food for me and dh and kids will have American food.. But sometimes it's too hard and no time to do all that and my kids are very sensitive to smell.. If new food is on the table and it smells funny, they don't even want to try.. I've been telling them all the foods has different smell and taste and a lot of different country people eat different food.. Oh, well, I think they are too young to understand what I am trying to say.. I do know few words in Japanese I learn from my mom when she was learning Japanese.. I remember my mom used to speak full Japanese and English.. And my kids know few words in Korean.. Every time I speak Korean to my kids, they are looking at me like 'what mommy?' haha... I am not pushing them to learn Korean before English since Korean is their second language but I will teach them Korean for sure so they can talk to their grandparents in Korea.. So far their Korean pronunciation is good..
Lago- I never seen someone LOVE Asian food as much as you are besides Asian people and I think that's good and cool.. We love Lou Malnatis Pizza too.. we have one in downtown Napvereille and kids love their Calamari.. BTW, don't feel guilty about not having se from chemo.. I think that is great thing, chemo is not affecting your normal life style and I am so envy you for that.. so, enjoy~~ and keep doing what you are doing~!!
Marina- Gabby is adorable~~ so lovely.. FYI, not everyone gets infections or complications with Recon.. I never had any infections and no complications so don't get scared.. it is not as hard as mx surgery.. you can do it~!!
LisaMotherOfFour- If dh get this job, company will relocate to us to Fort Worth, TX since company's headquarter is there.. lot of people said they like there because living coast is cheaper and no state income tax.. What we are paying for this place in Naperville, you can rent a single family house with 4bed 3bath.. with yard and etc.. OK, I get that the living coast is cheaper than here but I don't like hot humid summer weather and more rain.. My dh had asthma and whenever humidity is in the air, he gets congested and my le gets worse.. so, I am concern because of the healthy issue but dh won't listen.. He was telling his parents the other day, if we move to TX, we gonna stay there and not moving anymore... wow, really?? I know him and he will trying to move out from TX within few years like he did with any other states... oops..sorry, I went over for TX... BTW, I have no idea we are neighbors.. maybe we can meet for chat or any reasons,if you feel like it, just thought..

WendyK- I love peppermint tea.. I've been drinking for years and they are also good if you have stuffy nose.. about the TSA, I don't know what I would do.. somewhat I don't want anymore radiation then again I don't want someone to touch me too much.. I think whichever is short in line I will go for it.. haha.. I don't fly much, maybe once a year the top and like Jackie said, I don't mind riding trains at all.. And what happened to Santa?? haha.. that was too funny~~ you should take video and let us see it..
BJ- "Shoes are girls best friend" You said it right sister~ I love to see your sparkle shoes.. I told dh about the holiday party and also told him it is on his working day and I still want to go, since I don't get to out with my sisters much.. I think I deserve to go to party, even though only for the few hours, right??
so, I will try to tell him that I am going and I get the sitter to watch the kids while I am gone.. that's my plan..Adey- End your treatment before next year sounds great.. You can freshly have a new start.. actually that sounds exciting doesn't it??

NavyMom- Have a safe trip and hope you have a great time~
Jackie- I agree with you on TSA.. if you don't like to be touched or scan then take the bus or train.. I don't mind trains though but it takes too long..
Susan- I love Thai food.. I can almost taste that soup... yum~~ And about the shopping with dh, I don't mind go shopping with my dh but sometimes he takes too loooong~~ I mean, he wants to see everything even though we don't need.. it driving me crazy.. for me, I look for what I need and I get what's on my list and get out but with him, that is impossible.. He love shopping.. it doesn's matter it's for him or or not..
Onward- Take some Tylenol or Motrin.. I Hope you feel better soon.. hang in there~~
Every time when dh is working night shift, the whole family stays up late.. like, now.. almost 2 am and I am still typing and not even one single yawning...
We had some business to take care of on Friday and went for lunch, just two of us at the Famous Daves and it was good.. of course, ate too much.. we had sitter came over and stayed with the kids while we are gone and kids love their sitter.. Then this morning, I woke up with puffy face, sore back, puffy arm with puffy wrist and hand... ouch... it hurts like you know what and I had to wrapping and bandaging and sleeve for all day and got better but still puffy and hard to move the wrist and fingers... this sucks..
I was flipping the channels to see what's on tv and one title caught my eyes "Pirates Exercise Gym" at qvc and I was curious to see what that was and it was "Pilates Exercise Gym" omg~~ what was I thinking... lol
Good night for everyone and sweet dreams too..
Have a pleasant Monday~!!
